Not funny at all ... What happens to FIBARO.

Rise and shine! You must make your way back to the top again.

Work harder and faster otherwise you lose your No. 1 position in home automation.

Do not misunderstand me , I really like fibaro and their products.

When were they ever near the no 1 position ? I'd currently consider them about 5th or 6th in the non-high end space. And that is behind open source solutions.

Hardware devices are not inspiring at all with the details coming from Sweden

They were definitely number 1 for Z-wave. Just a year ago everybody wanted a Fibaro, but not everybody was willing to spent the cash for a HC2. In retrospect those people may have been the lucky ones...

If you look at some of the competitors, I think it will we hard to reclaim that position. Not without some serious reorganizing anyway. The pace of development is simply so slow and every new release introduces even bigger problems for the users. There's just a limit to how much you can make people believe in a product through your marketing department.

+1 but they don't listen....

Which competitors would that be?

I know Zipato is pretty cool. (I'm pretty new to the Z-Wave world)

i'm sorry? the last few months there are people who dumps there hc2 completly on dutch secondhand sites, and also that prices are going down....

So which competitor is that? The dutch second hand site?

I don't know about Zipato right now, I initially bought a Zipabox, but was fed-up with the concept in the end. It presented problems while programming and you could never figure out whether it was you who did something wrong, or the server that had an error. In comparison to my experience from that time, HC2 is top-notch. So from my experience I would advice against that, but that's almost 2 years ago..

But looking at that rate at which Domoticz currently is being developed, both in features and stability, it shows it can be done. Makes you wonder how big the Fibaro development team actually is.

The other is Indigo. On their forums you see quite a lot of former HC2 users and they all seem to be quite happy with the transition. Personally I don't have any experience with this piece yet, but will give it a try beginning of next year.

If you are looking for a closed system with massively bloated mobile app that that prioritises style over substance, then fibaro are streets ahead. If you want a functional flexible Z-Wave HA system, then Indigo, Zipato, Vera, Domoticz, take your pick. None of them are perfect, but are so far ahead of fibaro and the gap is getting bigger with the slow pace of development. Even when V4 is stable, fibaro will still be years behind the others in terms of device support and plugins and still cannot access the USB ports for addon modules

oops, that was way off topic,

was a reaction on the "rise and shine" topic

I came here thinking this was going to be code for a slow wake up light in the morning ..."rise and shine". Wrong
