I opened a topic about if Zipato is better than Fibaro. Mainly because Zipato seems to listen to users and give them solutions to new hardware in weeks.

We all have devices on the Fibaro system that don't work. How long does Fibaro let us wait? It's been already months! And we wait months from now if we don't consider switching to a better product.

It was in no way against rules.

The topic was removed (by Fibaro).

The Fibaro software looks good but it's rubbish!

(User interface of iOS App, reliability, bugs)

Is Zipato better than Fibaro?

I used both of them. I sold my Zipato about 6 months ago because I was really tired about things breaking down and not being able to do things. I did really like the alarm module.

So I don't know if everything changed after that (I do still hear quite some compatibility issues) but I'm far more happy with my HC2.

I bought a zipabox early 2013 and had big expectations. The company got big expectations in challenging fibaro.

When it comes to quality I would say the companies are the same. Zipato also release next n functional stuff and I got really tired of them treating the system as a test environment despite its productive for the most users. Rules stoped working, rules got strange errors upon saving etc,

It is very much relying on the cloud for changes.

Well if you want the best, go for Indigo. Rock solid environment on OS X , python, bash, applescript and anything else you can take your pick of scripting languages, extendible. New hardware added within a couple of weeks of requesting it, you can't get better than that. Oh and plugins galore.

Indigo? There iOS app was last update dec 2010!

Yes you are indeed correct, and that is why it doesn't take 20 seconds to load on a LAN connection. The app is in the process of being updated, which is a far better situation to be in than the whole OS in a state of limbo for month and months and getting no closer to being fixed.

The whole idea of a home AUTOMATION system is that it operates itself, the mobile application should only be for minor tasks

dawiinci, your thread was not censored, I deleted it for violating forum rules. It was not about "if Zipato is better" as a point to discuss, but it stated that it is and contained some links to shops and manufacturer site. Hence it was considered advertisement and was treated as such.

The Zipato concept of having add on units for Zigbee and 433MHz is exceptionally good.

Unfortunately the software side appears to be as incomplete and unreliable as Fibaro seems to be.

Zipato are all over the place at shows selling their products but this is the support page on their website - everything will be "soon"!!
