One Device controlled by different controllers

sandip

Question

I have a requirement for a multi-dwelling building apartment where each floor owner has a Fibaro Controller. Apart from a door locks on each floor there is a main door lock on the ground floor which ideally should be controlled by all house owners.

Please help if there is any solution.

Thanks in advance!

One solution could be an IP or Wifi relay controlled with LUA.

(If this is applicable in your situation)

I agree with speedy.

If you want a "ready" product, the Global Cache IP2CC could be an option.

Personally i would use a more potent PLC; or simply us an Arduino+Ethernet to be able to implement stuff like protect from constant open, timer functions, logging etc...

Or, if the common lock has a sufficiently advanced controller, just use an IP2CC to trigger it.

  • Thanks Speedy and JanJoh,

But if I use an IP device, I have to make sure that the device is in same IP circle as all the Controllers which would not be possible. Each Apartment owner would have their own IP Network.

And I guess even a master controller would not be possible for the same reason.

Until they have common WiFi network.

Please let me if we have any alternate solution.

Sorry, but i do not understand the problem. As long as the lock-controller has an IP reachable by all tennants, this is no issue. Assign it a public IP, and give each tennant a user/pass/token to communicate with the device.

But, with the current fibaro hardware limitations, this is pretty much your only sensible option.

If not, you would need to run wiring to each apartment, and then have a zWave-switch to control these lines.
