LUA to Query Database

Question

Posted

Hi, I've been looking at the LUA API and I don't see any methods to query the database. select, insert etc does this functionally exist. I want to add in templates for my 3rd party devices and looking for a way to use existing functionality rather then having to add it in.

Also keen to speak with others looking at or wanting to work on the same functionality.

Mark.

No, such functionality does not exist. And I will bet that Fibaro will not provide direct access either.

markdyer, you cannot access database, it is restricted for support use only.

Appears Fibaro unfortunately does not support this directly. I look forward to hearing from anyone else with ideas particular who is experienced with LUA (and databases) to be in contact. Would like to verify my process is correct for how the device configuration process works. Wishfully this basic functionality should be built in. My process is based on a xml template so the configuration values can be reinstated after updates.

A less desirable method could be using a browser plugin to configure devices by altering the html based on device.

j.nowacki, There is not currently a fully formatted step by step configuration page for devices that are not fibaro from what I can find. At least not my AEON LABS devices. If this is not the case please enlighten me how. It seems to be a straight forward process to add such functionality.

I've spent thousands on fibaro products and I just want a system that is easier to configure no matter who the supplier of hardware is.

markdyer, I passed this suggestion to developer team, however for now you are right, parameters must be added manually.
