Fibaro Home Center 2 v 4.019 BETA.

Beta version is designed for user testing and soon will be released as official.

WARNING! After installing this upgrade backups from version 1.x and 3.x will be retained but hidden because they are incompatible with the version 4.x. In case of update from old version, v1.x, after that update all users will be deleted. Admin password will be reset. Also update to Beta software all devices will be automatically reconfigured to work with new system architecture. Reconfiguration progress will be shown in pop-up window.

This update can last longer than previous. If this update lasts longer than 30 minutes, please go to main HC2 address (e.g. 192.168.0.1).

If "System temporarily unavailable" text will appear during update, please wait - you will be redirected to the main page when all services start.

4.019:

- Configuration > Backup now is Backup & Recovery

- Recovery Memory Status - can be checked on Backup & Recovery

- Backups - information about compatibility with current HC version

Netatmo - plugin for thermostat and weather station from netatmo

3.907:

This version mainly concentrate on adding better support and integration for more devices (not only z-wave device).

Important part of software responsible for management z-wave devices was rebuild from the scratch for better support different devices types.

New Home Center software introduces support for plugins. Plugins give support for new devices and new functionalities without modifying HC Firmware. Plugins can be used for controlling devices via different protocols and standards like TCP/IP, IR*, RS 232*, UPNP. Plugins have their own user interface and can call all APIs available on HC2. Possibility of building plugins by independent developers will be introduced in next versions.

Drag & Drop for devices and scenes - available on home, devices and rooms screens. Assigning devices to rooms and changing its order is now much easier and faster.

Magic Scenes - new, simplified and easy to use graphical way to create scenes based on condition > action flow.

Temperature Panel - allows to see history of temperature changes in rooms and on each device.

Diagnostic Panel - general information about HC working condition like CPU & RAM usage, free space on hard drive. Will be extended in future versions.

New Z-Wave engine - redesigned and rewritten from the scratch. Now is faster and has better support for devices.

Z-Wave Door Locks support - controlling and PIN settings.

Thermostats - extended controlling for thermostats from manufacturers like: Honeywell, Trane Corporation.

Extended tamper for sensors - exclusive information for motion detection and violation of sensors.

Fibaro Smoke Sensor extended support - level of smoke and gap to alarm level is reported and visible on charts at iPad and Web Page. Sensitivity level is now easier to set.

Fibro Motion Sensor new device - when seismometer mode is turned on new device reporting tremors is available. Charts for temperature and illuminance. Additionally information about sensor violation.

Device hiding - device that is not in use can be hide without removing it.

Device deactivation - deactivated device is visible in UI but can't be controlled.

Multithreading added for HC (server and z-wave) - now engines work much faster.

Event panel moved - for better usability now is available in menu on right side of screen.

User rights management - moved to Configuration.

Block Scenes improvements - for device only available actions are visible, scene activation block added and logical conditions grouping using brackets.

Lua Scenes - updated tooltips for devices.

one IMPORTANT note: Starting the update on the interface is showing a web-page without any info and progress. As i had same problems with update before, i have manually opened one time

of HC2, after this it is showing the update progress. This could be important for users, not seeing any progress and hard-rebooting the box / while the update and files are tried to be copied in background.

So if your box is hanging or if you don't see any progress, reload or better enter only

4.019 is not to bad here... silly bugs exist still but important silly bugs have been resolved!

One question!

What browser, what phone do you guys use to test against for simple things like fonts etc to go astray? seems like a stupid question but just fail to understand how the formatting on plugins can be so bad can only assume its resolution issues on devices!

In 4.017 someone from Fibaro said the parameter is only strange until device has reported back. We'll I have waited for hours.,

Wonky CSS and layouts sounds like a good use case for running Wraith before each beta release is made public for testing.

Don't see much change yet expect for the small fixes indeed.

Still quite some bugs. The first one is that the alarm panel still shows nothing for any devices.

Still dead nodes of devices that are indeed not dead.

Checksum of Recovery failed..?! What is corrupted? and what is the difference between recovery and restoring a backup?

How is the support for Qubino devices (I am thinking of the temp sensor on the Qubino devices, the temp sensor will add great control of how hot the device will be during use and an easy ande secure way to monitor all dimmers/switches from Qubino - would be nice if Fibaro added this...)?

This update appears to be exactly what was required, bugfix bugfix bugfix .. a couple more of these type of releases without adding too many new things and preferably without introducing too many others, & we'll have a new stable !?!

It would be nice to know if previously known issues have been closed out though, you may have updated bugtracker, I'll check tonight when I get home. Keep it up, trickling out bug fixes only is likely to be a perfect scenario for a lot of users ....

Update: Z-Wave Communication is finally "back" again... after about 50 Minutes.

I have updated from 3.590

everything went smooth except one thing

1) My satel Alarm says : Attention, integration with the alarm control panel is not fully configured. The control panel does not have a alarm partition named Fibaro.

when i try to reload configuration it does nothing

Update:

Z-Wave communication is more or less working after a reboot... but only for about 5 Minutes... after that, the complete Z-Wave Communication Stops / is not working at All.

I've let it rest during the night... but in the morning/today: still no Z-wave Communications.

so the Situation is much worse than with the previous Beta.

I do have some Dead Devices (two 3 in 1 Ez Motions now not just don't work anymore.. they are also marked as dead)

What could be the Problem / Solution ? Any Diagnostic Information available ?

Thanks fibaro for the z-wave fix. First time since the first alpha the dimmers that are controlled through association are finally reporting back to the hc again.

Updated from 3.590 and it all went smoothly.

Only real issues for me on this version are

Battery devices showing dead, never had a dead node before on 3.590

Horstmann Boiler switch does not work.

Couldn't try it for long because of the boiler switch not working and its cold at the moment
