Fibaro Home Center 2 v 4.019 BETA.

Beta version is designed for user testing and soon will be released as official.

WARNING! After installing this upgrade backups from version 1.x and 3.x will be retained but hidden because they are incompatible with the version 4.x. In case of update from old version, v1.x, after that update all users will be deleted. Admin password will be reset. Also update to Beta software all devices will be automatically reconfigured to work with new system architecture. Reconfiguration progress will be shown in pop-up window.

This update can last longer than previous. If this update lasts longer than 30 minutes, please go to main HC2 address (e.g. 192.168.0.1).

If "System temporarily unavailable" text will appear during update, please wait - you will be redirected to the main page when all services start.

4.019:

- Configuration > Backup now is Backup & Recovery

- Recovery Memory Status - can be checked on Backup & Recovery

- Backups - information about compatibility with current HC version

- Gateway Connection - status of dead device between master and slave controller may be different

3.907:

This version mainly concentrate on adding better support and integration for more devices (not only z-wave device).

Important part of software responsible for management z-wave devices was rebuild from the scratch for better support different devices types.

New Home Center software introduces support for plugins. Plugins give support for new devices and new functionalities without modifying HC Firmware. Plugins can be used for controlling devices via different protocols and standards like TCP/IP, IR*, RS 232*, UPNP. Plugins have their own user interface and can call all APIs available on HC2. Possibility of building plugins by independent developers will be introduced in next versions.

Drag & Drop for devices and scenes - available on home, devices and rooms screens. Assigning devices to rooms and changing its order is now much easier and faster.

Magic Scenes - new, simplified and easy to use graphical way to create scenes based on condition > action flow.

Diagnostic Panel - general information about HC working condition like CPU & RAM usage, free space on hard drive. Will be extended in future versions.

New Z-Wave engine - redesigned and rewritten from the scratch. Now is faster and has better support for devices.

Z-Wave Door Locks support - controlling and PIN settings.

Thermostats - extended controlling for thermostats from manufacturers like: Honeywell, Trane Corporation.

Extended tamper for sensors - exclusive information for motion detection and violation of sensors.

Fibaro Smoke Sensor extended support - level of smoke and gap to alarm level is reported and visible on charts at iPad and Web Page. Sensitivity level is now easier to set.

Fibro Motion Sensor new device - when seismometer mode is turned on new device reporting tremors is available. Charts for temperature and illuminance. Additionally information about sensor violation.

Device hiding - device that is not in use can be hide without removing it.

Device deactivation - deactivated device is visible in UI but can't be controlled.

Multithreading added for HC (server and z-wave) - now engines work much faster.

Event panel moved - for better usability now is available in menu on right side of screen.

User rights management - moved to Configuration.

Block Scenes improvements - for device only available actions are visible, scene activation block added and logical conditions grouping using brackets.

Lua Scenes - updated tooltips for devices.

Well, don't know exactlly by where to start... The update went well, with my configuration the conversion phase was better then old beta versions, but I start fom a fresh install in 3.590 with around 65 modules.

At the begining everything seams to be ok, but after few hour almost all modules stop responding, they don't just appear dead, but they are. try restarting the box but still same issues after few hours.

In my case the interface look to be more reactive then previous version. Looks promising but today not really usable. Danfoss are still dead, sometimes (very often) fals dead nodes with battery modules, still the bug (12344454453) with FGMS, lot of real dead nodes, fals triggers with fgms probably due to lost of communication, sitll impossible to amend a scene after a module conversion changing it ID, still no energy consumption (not on the bugfix list) and a few minor thing in my case.

I'll raise some tickets tomorrow, for the few bugs that haven't been discussed yet, and will go back to 3.590 just after.

If somebody from Fibaro wants to have a look to my box before the restore, just let me know.

In my situation, scene activation on Fib dimmer (10 pcs) stopped working... But reconfigure + fix parameters & associations solved that. Then I had to change many scripts because of the new IDs.

But then it looked good say 99% OK, except for one obvious thing: any node CAN and WILL turn dead. Not everybody has this problem, I think. I have no clue why some people say their "dead node" problem was solved by 4.X - while I think it's the opposite

For me also 4.019 fixed dead node problem with battery operated devices. I installed update yesterday, woke up dead devices and these which are acutally working, are now still working flawlessly. And those who are really dead (batteries out etc) these are again dead.

Havent got time to test other things yet.

All of my devices disappeared after upgrading to this beta.

I cant understand how you can continoue on this track......fail after fail after fail.

1) My satel Alarm says : Attention, integration with the alarm control panel is not fully configured. The control panel does not have a alarm partition named Fibaro.

when i try to reload configuration it does nothing

Exactly the same problem I had in 4.018.....obviously Fibaro partition is present.

Yes, Yes Yes......I am so happy. The whole z-wave enigen overhalul has been great.

My Fibaro ghost is back. HC2 is switching devices on again whitout any local or hc2 action.

Well, I have had quite a lot of patience with Fibaro. I have loads of dimmers, water sensors, switches, door sensors and plugs. The road has been quite bumpy since I first got my HC2, but it has always improved. Well, 4.17 wasn't that much of an improvement when all Danfoss radiator controllers died, but anyhow. Today I decided to updated to 4.19. Maybe it would fix all the dead battery nodes, I thought. I shouldn't have done that. The updater stopped at 0% for more than two hours. I tried to reconnect. I have now tried to restart. No ip adress and therefor no connection. I guess my HC2 is bricked. God I hate Fibaro. I have spent about 2k EUR in Fibaro equipment and now I have a dead house. I have always thought that the people complaining and making fun och Fibaro in these threads (hey, I even blocked deanperry or whatever he is called) but now I actually am fed up. An upgrade from beta 4.018 to beta 4.019 should not, in any way, shape or form cause a complete failure. Then you really should work with software development at all.

I feel your pain biggles, i saw the light a few months back, this beta testing seems to be going backwards. The level of discrepency between it working for some and complete rubbish for others is the most frightening bit.

I uploaded myself the last Fw 4,019. I detect the same drawbacks of many dead sensor. I don't understand how you don't handle thermostat yet Secure in the SRT322 in the SCS318-have not yet realized that winter has arrived. I am ordering the new controller VeraEdge. Goodbye Fibaro.
