To Fibaro and to whom it may concern:

The systems produces so many errors that make it impossible to be used as it is offered!

I feel like a sheep being annoyed all the time, hoping for an update, installing it just to get more annoying errors.

NOT that I want to update to another beta version but Fibaro-Errors are so nasty and annoying (in my case 150 ! battery warning mails A DAY... "sorry, known bug... fixed with 4019 beta") that you do update to the next beta. And its no help that you get informed that betas may be unstable and bla bla bla! What else shall one do?! THERE IS NO FUNCTIONAL STABLE VERSION.

So one goes and installs the update... AND GETS EVEN MORE PISSED OFF.

In my case (see bug tracker if you like): scenes get activated with out being triggerd, causing e.g. my rollers to go up and down as they like... ALARM going off all 10 minutes.

I can't even say HOW ANNOYED AND PISSED OF I AM.

Having 80 devices and spend nearly 5.000 EUR in the system (not to talk about time) and getting such instable thing is without words.

Fibaro I expect from you to stop publishing new features (that don't work anyway) AND CONCENTRATE ON GIVING US WHAT YOU OFFER and what we payed for.

I am running out of patience!

I was Fibaro user until september 2014, I purchased Fibaro 2 years ago because I'm searching a zerotime loss to configure and manage my domotic home (before I was Vera user)... Into this 2 years I can't count hours spent to re-include nodes, fix problems, reconfigure my zwave network, etc... the truth is that HC2 is good only for the graphic design and polished system, but under the hood, it's a really mess, moreover they want blind the users (despite HC2 software is based on OpenSource software) and close the doors to a community of power users that could help to enhance the system... promise and promise... fibaro sold a uncompleted system, they made a polished advertising and nothing more.

However nowadays exist many more powerful and cheap solutions, like Domoticz with Rasberry Pi, and with a 1/10 of the price of a HC2 you have a more flexible system, feature rich, more fast (yes fast!), at lower power consumption (3W for a RPi B+). Of course it's not bugs free, but behind it there is a REAL OpenSource community, and the development speed is incredible if compared to the Fibaro.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Kind Regards

Jin: can you give me a few more information to your alternative system, e.g. links and so on?

Is that compatible with the fibaro devices?

    Posted

Domoticz can manage many standards of Home Automations together, regarding

ZWave, they use the OpenZWave project, an OpenSource Library that's compatible with many ZWave device out there (many more of Fibaro system imho right now.

As I told, it's no a panacea of home automation, and the time you must invest to make it working is not little, but if you are used to HC2 time loss, this isn't a problem for you

Just using a bit of brain you can make great things.. My Alarm system with domoticz is more powerful now than what I had with HC2.

you can read about it on

(consult pdf manual, official wiki and forum).

Another good read was written by Vesternet peoples:

I'm sorry, I did not mean to advertise domoticz system with my first intervention.

Going to send on Monday something like that:

    Dear Fibaro.

I'd like to get full refund for my HC2 and 2xHCL.

It never used to work properly, you are selling broken technology which is not functioning as promised.

Please explain the official procedure to get my money back.

You know that under EU law there are some obligations for 2 years at least, and it's extremely easy to prove that your solution never worked.

Don't like to make any new scandals but really willing to do so in case no refund will be provided.

    Sincerely yours,

    Maxim.

Used to work for a few days but bitten the dust. Luckily, only one device was added - i'm not going to trust Fibaro to automate my home anymore.

Good luck if you manage to draft any document together that works then I would be more than grateful to follow suit I still have one unit left managed to ebay the other one months ago... Took a plunge tonight and tested the latest beta... argh! how bad? it may boild down to the fact these updates do not update well and a complete refresh is on the cards each time but that is unacceptable! Either way good luck Shapa from a fellow countryman!

It really is s shame that it has come to this for some people. The Fibaro system has so much potential with the easy to use UI for beginners using blocks and some of the other features, but unfortunately Fibaro has alienated so many users with poor software upgrades etc.

I am sure that if Fibaro pushed out an update each week with a few bug fixes, stopped adding features until system is stable and communicated with the users about a roadmap then I am sure many people would have had some more patience as they could see the light at the end of the tunnel. They also need to stop being the marketing machine that they are as current users are getting sick of seeing advertisements that show things they can't be done or seeing promises for added functionality when the core functionality is broken

For me I have a very basic system currently consisting of only 2 door sensors, 3 roller shutters and 1 dimmer (as this is the only light in my house that is not LED and there have been discussions of too many issues with LED) and I am not planning on adding any more modules because I don't have faith in the company at the moment, and also the smoke sensor and wall plug still are not available in my country

I really hope that Fibaro get their act together to salvage the dwindling customer base that they have

I am quite sure they will not make it because they are really close to the breaking point. And once broken there is no turning back.

In latest 2 years (if they proceed like that) nobody will talk about them anymore. Customers are really patient for a long time but if you push them over the limit again and again they will go.

One very important thing they don't seem to care about is mouth-to-mouth-propaganda.

In my case, I am a selfdefense trainer, coach and security advisor, people ask me how they can improve there personal security with alarm systems and so on. Not everybody of my clients can spend thousands of Euro for a security system. In the past I told them (and electricians I work together with) that I use a promising system that will become very suitable. NOW I advise everybody to take whatever they want as long as it is not fibaro. And I am sure not alone. Fibaro loose hundreds of thousands Euros without even knowing it. And -to be honest- THAT satisfies me a lot.

And the best of all is: all of us pay a lot of money and get crap and then if there is a bugfix all go like "yeah.. thanks... keep up the good work"... Umm... let me get this together: they sell crap and repair it and we say thank you?! Shouldn´t it be vice versa: the say sorry and thank you for us hanging on such a long time!?

When I joined the forum and saw your posts Dean, i was like, jaysus would this guy give it a rest, all he does is moan, that was until i'd had a chance to play with it myself and realise exactly why you were so frustrated. I feel your pain, although I haven't suffered it near as long as you persevered, i had to draw the line with the Alpha to Beta cutover and having to go back to stable to upgrade, was the final straw for me as I'd put so much work into the alpha.

Fibaro blew it as far as the HC2 is concerned (and probably in other areas as well).

The site developer.fibaro.com looked promising, but turns out to be an empty shell.

This concludes my daily moaning portion.
