Fibaro Home Center 2 v 4.021 BETA.

Beta version is designed for user testing and soon will be released as official.

WARNING! After installing this upgrade backups from version 1.x and 3.x will be retained but hidden because they are incompatible with the version 4.x. In case of update from old version, v1.x, after that update all users will be deleted. Admin password will be reset. Also update to Beta software all devices will be automatically reconfigured to work with new system architecture. Reconfiguration progress will be shown in pop-up window.

This update can last longer than previous. If this update lasts longer than 30 minutes, please go to main HC2 address (e.g. 192.168.0.1).

If "System temporarily unavailable" text will appear during update, please wait - you will be redirected to the main page when all services start.

Known issues:

Important! User Developed Plugins will be removed with this update. Please be sure you have your plugin source code.

Important! Remote access is NOT available for this version.

Satel - adding plugin progress bar disappears during configuration. Please wait about 15 minutes before performing actions on Satel devices.

Backup from 4.018 should not be visible as compatible with 4.019 or newer. Restoring backup 4.018 on 4.019 or newer will cause with no access to all backups, however backups are safe and can be restored after recovery or installing new version.

Devices Polling may not work properly - devices state in UI may be refreshed only after action taken.

Breached sensor with Arm Delay causes instant alarm after being armed

Data range selection in event panel doesn't work properly

Devices imported via Gateway Connection may have no icons

Gateway Connection status of dead device between master and slave controller may be different

Devices not properly configured on 3.X may not be converted properly

This version mainly concentrate on adding better support and integration for more devices (not only z-wave device).

Important part of software responsible for management z-wave devices was rebuild from the scratch for better support different devices types.

New Home Center software introduces support for plugins. Plugins give support for new devices and new functionalities without modifying HC Firmware. Plugins can be used for controlling devices via different protocols and standards like TCP/IP, IR*, RS 232*, UPNP. Plugins have their own user interface and can call all APIs available on HC2. Possibility of building plugins by independent developers will be introduced in next versions.

Drag & Drop for devices and scenes - available on home, devices and rooms screens. Assigning devices to rooms and changing its order is now much easier and faster.

Magic Scenes - new, simplified and easy to use graphical way to create scenes based on condition > action flow.

Diagnostic Panel - general information about HC working condition like CPU & RAM usage, free space on hard drive. Will be extended in future versions.

New Z-Wave engine - redesigned and rewritten from the scratch. Now is faster and has better support for devices.

Z-Wave Door Locks support - controlling and PIN settings.

Thermostats - extended controlling for thermostats from manufacturers like: Honeywell, Trane Corporation.

Extended tamper for sensors - exclusive information for motion detection and violation of sensors.

Fibaro Smoke Sensor extended support - level of smoke and gap to alarm level is reported and visible on charts at iPad and Web Page. Sensitivity level is now easier to set.

Fibro Motion Sensor new device - when seismometer mode is turned on new device reporting tremors is available. Charts for temperature and illuminance. Additionally information about sensor violation.

Device hiding - device that is not in use can be hide without removing it.

Device deactivation - deactivated device is visible in UI but can't be controlled.

Multithreading added for HC (server and z-wave) - now engines work much faster.

Event panel moved - for better usability now is available in menu on right side of screen.

User rights management - moved to Configuration.

Block Scenes improvements - for device only available actions are visible, scene activation block added and logical conditions grouping using brackets.

Lua Scenes - updated tooltips for devices.

I have tested out the beta now and for the two or three latest beta-versions I had this problem:

- If I go to configuration->z-wave network and want to change the option the "device polling interval" and/or the option "do not mark nodes as dead" the changes are not saved after pressing the save button on the right hand side.

Try to change parameter for my Aeon 4in1 : seems that does not work.

The page display old value and a text with "last set value :" with the new value.

So seems that Aeon does not receive new value (even I wake up it manually)

Update : after few retry with save and manual wakeup .... my HC2 hangs with zwave.

ZWAVE led stay ON and no zwave activity at all. Need to restart it.

84 hour without freeze with 4.021

After restart of HC2 try again.

Still no update on zwave parameter value.

Manual wakeup does not help , even I can see "routing table update" on the log box !!!!

This is similar issue with fibaro motion sensor. Sometimes says "last set value" but does nothing?!

@Fibaro: NOTHING is working for me atm.

After a reboot, I can send commands for a very short time (about one minute). Afterwards, NOTHING is happening anymore. No matter how long I wait or how often I click, no command will be sent to the device. After a reboot, I can quickly control everything for about one minute again.

Please advice. I'd like to prevent downgrading as I seem to be the only person with this issue, however I won't be able to stay in this situation for long because I can't control my lights in the whole house without the HC2.

Please comment if you want to check via remote access or if I should just revert to an older version.

My sensor is Aeotec 4in1 not the Fibaro one ..... I've tried to wake up it in all way I know ... but nothing to do (please note that with 3.590 manual wake up work with no problem). Seems a bug of 4.021.

Good news,

ZXT-120 works well, shows the temperature from the included sensor, you can select cooling, heating mode, temp setup, ventilation speed.

One small problem on batery mode: with new batteries it shows Low battery level on top of the HC2 interface.

I have test it on an LG air conditioner.

I had a lot of dead nodes, so I clicked on reconfigure zwave network. 16 hours later, its not configured, and most of the devices (fibaro 2 x 1.5k switches) are now showing as additional new devices.

Worse still, the light switches dont even appear to work physically anymore, via the software or pressing the switch.

My wife's not overly happy.

I reported a bug for this... I'm sorry you didn't read it before clicking 'reconfigure'. I understand, I didn't have the habit of checking bugzilla either, but now I do! There are many features/bugs in these betas. See bugzilla, "0002177: Please explain the use of "reconfigure"". Mr Socha answered that indeed new id's and new devices sometimes appear, but not always. Please read his explanation in full.

I'm sorry I can not help you with the checksum error... Maybe too obvious, but have you tried [email protected]?

In fact... You have two diffent options... Restore the last backup, before the 'reconfigure incident', on the current 4.X firmware. Or do a full recovery with the last 3.X backup. I'd wait until I knew more about the checksum error. And I certainly would go for the 3.X option if Fibaro gave me a 'green light'

For the physical control problem.. Have you tried to power off your HC2 and then the modules, then only power on the modules. I have had this happen a few weeks ago, and it did solve my problem on a 2*1.5 relay.

Thanks Peter for your responses. Tbh, I usually do read what others have reported - but I missed this one!

I'll try power off the house to see if it helps, when i get home.

As for the checksum, I'll wait and see what the response is on here. I think the HC2 configuration is so messed up, that I think rebuilding from scratch might be the best course of action. I just need to know if i restore, I'll go back to version 1.4 ok.

I really wonder how Fibaro can comment directly after this post, apparently without even taking notice of it. Fibaro support suggested that I'll just revert to an older version. Without even asking for any kind of investigation. I also wonder how Fibaro is supposed to find bugs if they don't even have a look at the issues the customers are facing.

Anyhow:

I tried to go back, but the HC2 won't boot into recovery. After holding the "+" button after turning it on it will just stop with all leds lit.

I need this thing to work, so I hooked it up to my tv:
