Hi,
I'm thinking about interfacing the existing gate controller with the HC2. There's a OPEN_GATE and CLOSE_GATE contacts, so I'm thinking about using a 2x1.5kw switch for opening/closing. The only thing I need to understand is how to get that gate status. The gate controller doesn't have a specific contact for this, but there's a GATE_OPEN_LIGHT, which stays on if the gate is open, and off if closed. It uses 24VAC on the output.
I could use a UBS for this, right? I could wire one of the inputs to a relay with 24VAC coil. Would this be a way of doing it? Other ideas?
My electronics knowledge is limited so please be gentle.
