Thanks for pointing out the article.

I get great pleasure out of having to hack devices to make them work.

    Yes I'm sick and twisted...

After digging deeper in to the article it appears that the Motion Sensor is not the problem; it is the in correct configuration of the XML file and settings in RazBerry.

Thats not my reading of it. Robert Hekkers puts the blame on Fibaro as do the people in zwave.me forum who say the sensor is not sending enough packet information

    Dear all,

There is a known issue with firmware version 2.4 when used with 3rd Party controllers.

This may not be the same issue (the author doesn't say which version of the firmware he is using) but it could definitely be a contributing factor. Please remember that if you want to use the Fibaro Motion Sensor with 3rd Party gateways it should definitely be running v2.6.

If you have a v2.4 sensor, contact your dealer to arrange a replacement to v2.6.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

Daniel, one of the main reasons I purchased a HC2 was because of the ability to upgrade the devices firmware , are you saying this is not possible and if it is, how can I do it when I connect motion sensor to HC2.

    Posted

fergalmccarthy, Motion Sensors are capable of updating its software, it is just not supported in current firmware.

    Posted

Thanks for the response but yet again, one of the main reasons for my purchase of a HC2 was being able to upgrade the device firmware, was another lie

When will it be available, i've not seen anything in the current beta's that would enable this.

Also this is a known issue, can you please advise where this is documented and what other known issues are there.

    Posted

fergalmccarthy, it is not an issue it is just a feature that is going to be introduced.

Daniel Knight stated this is a known issue

There is a known issue with firmware version 2.4 when used with 3rd Party controllers.

As for the wireless update, this has been advertised for I don't know how long, when will it be introduced ?

    Posted

fergalmccarthy, i referred to the wireless update feature, not 3rd party controllers compatibility one. Regarding wireless update: no date so far, sorry.

Ok well just to let you know I have raised a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland in relation to the false advertising of such features. They are being advertised and sold as already having this ability

As for the known issues with third party controllers, can you please advise where these known issues are documented and what other known issues are they.

So the solution to someone that has a Motion Sensor with 2.4 firmware is to return them all to the vendor for a replacement ?

Who covers the cost of shipping ?

Is this an official Fibaro policy ?

What other devices require firmware upgrades ( replacement ) to correct known issues ?

    [ Added: 2014-12-13, 00:04 ]

Any chance of some answers or a response Fibaro ?
