Help with new motion sensor scene and dimmer

Question

Posted

Hello.

I'm new to the system and trying to research how to set up a scene.

I have some lamps over my kitchen area that i want to activate differently according to time of day/light/lux.

The idea is that when its morning and the sun is shining outside, there is no point for lights. But on days where its cloudy and dark i would like it dim to 100%. So here the lux probably has to play in.

Then again later in the evening/night i would like the sensor to trigger and dim the same lamps to lets say 70% instead of 100%, also according to sun/light shining in. As in summertime i can have sun in the windows til 10 in the evening.

And then again in the middle of the night when im "sleep walking" and getting a glass of water i would like it to turn on but only to lets say 20%. Not full light in my face at 2am.

But how can i set up something this complex? Is it even possible?

Thanks!

It would be great to understand some more, other than just "copy paste". So i also maybe one day can contribute with something

To be honest, nothing looks wrong with your blocks! Only thing I can suggest at the minute is to take out the variable check and see if it works or not. If it does (and should) you have your answer.

Always best, when something doesnt work, to do basic first and then add to it. Must say I find lua easier as u can debug and see where u are going wrong. You cannot do that with blocks as far as I know....but then I dont use blocks much!

Well the problem seems to be with 1 motion sensor. I have 2 atm one is working fine the other is just losing connection getting "dead" on me. tried restart it etc reinstall it etc. But ends up having problems. It works when its 10cm from the controller but if i take it 3 meter it loses connection and goes dead. The other sensor works totally fine.

I think i will send that sensor in to support or whatever cause i think its just broken. i got these 2 sensor for 2 days ago.

Delete the motion sensor from HC2, then reset it (follow manual) then reinclude it again and see if u still have issues.

You do get odd issues with sensors until you have things 'set ' as it were!

iv reset it several times. deleted from system then reinstalled into it again but still same problem.

I have another weird problem now. when sensor is "safe" and i have this scene to dim down as much as possible it seems to only dim down to 30% or something. if i go in after i can manually dim them more than the scene set it too. why?
