Block scenes with no trigger

Question

Posted

I'm trying to create a scene that will only be run manually from the interface - hence it does not need a trigger. It seems block scenes with no trigger (only actions) do not work. So I had to create them in LUA. But I was wondering if there's a way to achieve it, without resorting to LUA.

Or...make a VERY improbable condition like: if outside temperature > 100 ° C then..

That way it will only work when you start it manually or through an other scene

I was wondering if the actions get executed on manual run in a block scene where the conditions are not met. I guess your suggestion answers that question.

But I would agree with akatar, the right thing would be to have a manual condition then. It's a bit counterintuitive that the conditions are ignored when run manually or from another scene - even if useful in my case. But thanks for that tip. It solves the problem.

I used Homeseer for several years and there you had the option to execute a scene WITHOUT checking the conditions or WITH checking the conditions. That way all possibilities were covered.

Just set something impossible. E.g. if roller shutter = breached.

    Or, write it in LUA

    Dear all,

Surest way is to choose a one off timer (Timer > Once) but set the date in the past. That way it can never be true and will never run without a manual trigger.

A "Manual" option would be a cool idea. I'll add it to the bug tracker as a feature request.

Also, you can delete the condition when the scene is saved. That way, only the + stays there. Not really elegant though.
