There is a wide range of rain gauge sensors for Z-Wave now, but why do that when you could have a load of fun make your own "Tipping-Bucket" rain gauge using a binary sensor?

Using something like a Qubino Module for the Inputs as their FLUSH 1 RELAY module gives you 3 x Inputs and can operate on 24-30VDC or 110-230VAC.

More expensive solutions include the Qubino Z-Wave Weather Station.

Hi smk23us,

I have a rather dumb question: I bought the KEMO rain sensor and a Fibaro FGBS. How do I do the cabling? I've connected the blue-white cable from the KEMO to IN1 on the FGBS, but nothing happens when I put some water on the KEMO (apart from the fact that the LED switches on) - Did I do the cabling completely wrong? Thanks - help most appreciated!

Cheers

Hi akatar,

did that - the blue wire from the KEMO is connected to the blue wire from the UBS, the blue-white-wire from the UBS is connected to the yellow wire from the UBS (IN1) - alas, no still no joy!

Cheers

Alfons

EDIT: Got it - took the wrong blue wire
