Fibaro control for home ventilation/Systemair via modbus

Recommended Posts

Hi.

Im new to fibaro but i have worked with other home automation systems and industrial automation systems.

My goal is to integrate my current home ventilation system (Systemair SAVE VTR 300) into fibaro/Z-wave.

I see that modbus interface has been discussed in various posts but i cant find a step by step guide and recommended interfaces etc..

Just started thinking about this, so if some of you already have done this I'm of course interested in copying your solution.

anyway.

My first thougt is to have fibaro communicating with a wireless Modbus converter Wifi/RJ485.

Any idea what equipment that i should use here?

Another solution is to use a "micro pc" with modbus interface to the ventilation unit.

the ventilation unit comes with a modbus manual:

so as long as i get the interface part up running i should handle the code quite easy.

Any ideas where to start? links?

Hello

I have 2x VTR300 in my house i have them connected via TKB wall plugs with energy monitor

that way i can see if they are on low / med / High speed

I Leave them on medium and have a Fibaro Relay Insert 2 * 1.5 KW module connected one to each of the Units via the speaker type connector on the top to put the units into high flow via a scene

for when people shower

of course i can switch them off or onto high flow at any time

We have fully integrated such ventilations with fibaro. Best is to use some kind of controller ethernet to rs485 and everything else is programming with HC2 and LUA

Did you tested that device with Fibaro?
