How to make HC2 know when "MY CAR" arrives at home

A similar function is done in this Fibaro commercial:

To my knowledge this is achieved by installing a Universal Sensor in the car connected to the cars high beam lights. Flashing it two times triggers a scene.

Not based on proximity or GPS, but still useful for your purpose I guess...haven't tried it though.

You can define a location and set a proximity. When you enter or leave that location you can send a http request to your hc2. This way you can start any scene or whatever.

I'm using Geofencer (android) that can also send a webrequest but i can't get a remoteconnection.

I found the same thing when I tried doing it via IE, and I found that as soon as I left the username and password it would work after I waited for the username/password prompt.

GeoFency uses these in a seperate basic authentication setting, not sure if that's the way it would work or not as I haven't left my house today, so didn't test if it worked what I had setup.

Guys,

I use this string "http://user:password@ipadress:port/api/callAction?deviceID=49&name=turnOn"

But I do not use any remote connections. I have forwarded a port to the HC2. This works the best.

I haven't still opened HC2 to internet, portforwarding unsecured device to internet is not a solution. I've been testing on relaying some commands from the server to HC2.

Something like:

Please login or register to see this link.

Server catches the command, filters IP-ranges, filters commands and if everything seems valid, forwards the command to HC2.

HC2 password is not used on string, the used password is for relaying commands only.

When my next phone (finally) arrives, I'm going to use this with Geofancy, I guess.

I guess your right, but I cannot get things working with remote connections, that`s why I have gone this path. I also have found remote connections to be slower. If someone knows how to connect remotely and can send https requests to the HC2 it would be great to learn

I want to run a scene when my car arrives back home.. What is the best way of doing it? It needs to be bulletproof

Im thinking that it needs to run a scene if my status is away AND my car arrives on the road in front of the house. I then want the scene to open the main gate, open the garage door, turn on the garden light, garage light, path light to the house and so on..

But how to include my car propperly?

Im sure you clever Guys have thought about it and have a sollution

Thanks!

You could go simple and use a standard car garage door opener in the car to open Gate and Garage and use door and light sensors on the doors to turn on relevant lights.

If you don't use remote connections why do you put user and passw in your request ?

I also forwarded a port to HC but no luck.

I forgot to mention that in my previous post.

Who has the solution ?

LAN requests?

No need for user and passw. Much safer.

Depends. My HC2 prompts for password. There is restrictions tho, requesting user (server/other) can control only few devices or scenes.

Hmm.....strange...

I can sent any local request without user and passw

Probably because you input the username/password the first time you did that and you let it save the login details and now it automatically forwards those when the HC2 requests it?

Local LAN requests isn't that helpful as when I leave my house I'll go off the LAN so the request needs to be send via the 3G network.

I have also forwarded the port to my HC2 and that works fine with the Fibaro App so I'll have to test if the http requests get forwarded like it should.

I don't remember that but i erase all history from time to time so the passw an logins must be gone i think.

Fibaro App does not need portforwarding.

Anyone found a solution with Geofancy to send the http-command on the 3/4G network? I don't wanna use portforwarding. My fibaro app works great remotely... should be possible for a simple http-request too I hope.

Why don't you just push a button? I think this gps thing is not only unreliable but it can also unlock your house without you wanting it to do.

Just put a remote in your car, hide it somewhere and you can decide whether you really want to start a scene or not. The rest is then automated.

Unless you and everyone else in your house, including your car, bike, ... has a chip implanted the system will never know exactly what your intentions are.

This is actually one Z-Wave device I'm looking forward to: A simple, good looking, affordable single button.

Knowing your car is home doesn't make home so smart. Who cares about the car. It's about you. I don't always leave house by car, I walk, drive bicycle, someone picks me up... It's more about knowing that am I at home or not.

It can be done with GPS or simple button, as stated above. There is keyfob for carrying controller with keys, this fits into pocket and can be used to inform HC2 about things you want it to know.

Single button:

Four buttons:

I've got that four key version, works fine with HC2.

I use the Bluetooth in my car stereo, and have my utility-server flip a global var depending on if it is in range or not.

I wouldn't recommend that Zwave.Me KeyFob to anyone, I have two and both are giving me issue's, the Battery won't last longer than a few weeks, I had to re-solder the battery holder on the PCB a couple of times because it comes loose. The range is terrible. Totally not happy with them.
