I have a new smokesensor, version 2.5 the HC2 says. In two weeks I have burned 3 new batteries!

i have several others, running on 2.1, for months.

The scary thing is that the hc2 dont give any signal that the battery is empty, i see it because the temperature is 0.0. So if I have fire, they dont go off!!!! Anybody else also these problems?

remcoploeg, you can set an e-mail notification about low battery level, or monitor you devices with virtual device for more personalized operation. High drain of battery may have multiple reasons. What are interval and threshold for temperature reports? Are there any associations implemented for this Sensor? Also hardware malfunction may be a reason for that if all parameters are correct.

I didn't get this mail two times already.

    j.nowacki,

Same here, I don't get any notification, yesterday after 2 days the battery was empty again (four times already..). I have just installed it normal and didn't changed any settings. No associations.

I have the same experience also. Made a topic on smoke detector also , no notification when battery is low..

I will got 3.600 installed now, wait what will happen.

when i find new version (v4) is stable, will do some big testing about this, don't like it now with these "bugs"

remcoploeg, please re-include sensor and if battery will be drained as quick as before, contact support. They will check all parameters and eventually provide you with information about warranty procedure, if needed.

But why no mail? This is critical for a water sensor for example.

I had the same issues with some sensors on the top/third floor of my house (HC2 is on bottom/first floor). Batteries were empty in max 2 days, No emails and also battery check script I created always reported 100% (running once a day). Also excluding and including it didn't work. I finally bought a HCL and placed that on the top floor and never experienced any issues with battery drain anymore. An expensive solution, but working... (and nice to test the HC2-HCL connection

    j.nowacki,

I re-included it already for 2 times. Other smoke sensors are even a level higher with no problems.

    regards,

    Remco
