Heating control from Mobile

Question

Posted

Hi to all

I'm trying to control my heating systems from my iPad, but do not work properly.

In the heating panel (from my PC) I have a configuration with hours period and temperature target, then if I ve try to access from my iPad/iPhone and I 've tried to change the temp target, the heating does not respond according with the new temp target that I've putted, so it is not possible to turn the heat on or off change the temperature from the iPad ..... Could anybody help on this? Thanks in advanced

Gustavo

gusqua, how do you access heating settings in mobile devices? Do you set proper time? When it is not entered, the temperature will not be applied. Normally it will also not update schedule, but enter manual setting for defined time.

Any chance you can implement panels for iPad/iPhone?

It would be great if there was an easy way to set schedules etc without needing to log into the browser interface.

Also, why is a schedule mandatory for heating? Is there a way to set a temperature without having to specify a time? The web interface seems to have holiday mode... but none of the mobile/tablet apps have that.

tvamvaki, mobile apps are meant rather for controlling your devices than configuration setup, that is why panels were not implemented. Same for vacation/manual mode. If you need them, virtual device can be created.

That's what I do now.

Is there any way at least to be able to put a virtual device on the main screen of the app? I can have scenes and devices but cannot add virtual devices.

Im trying to have an android tablet replace my wall thermostat controller. In order to do this though I need to simplify navigation for everyone in the house.... it needs to be user friendly.

tvamvaki, not a feature now, but I will suggest some kind of implementing this to the mobile developers.

A virtual device can help me to solve my problem. Is there a place, or could you help me, with the configurations/lines to create them? I'm only need to add a Vacation and Manual Mode for any heating device. Thanks in advanced

gusqua, I created a VD with two buttons. One vacation mode with a fixed value (15 degrees in the below example after the words "vacationTemperature"). The second button you set the wanted degree to 0 and it will go back to the automatic heating program for that room. Then you can add unique icons for each button and you will quickly see in the UI what mode is currently active.

Can someone tell me if this works in the latest stable version? I tried this code yesterday and my hc crashed directly. Tried it 3 times (but my hc takes 1 hour to boot) so cannot try it to often

If i leave out the PUT code it works runs but ofcourse does not do that much. If I leave the PUT in it crashed and does not even show me the earlier debug lines.

That will never work from a HCL: Lua code is not supported.
