How to stop 'theres an update' light blinking on HC2 casing?

Question

Posted

Hi All,

May sound silly but I'm finding the blinking light REALLY annoying and, as I don't urgently want to update to 3.60 then to 4.x how do I stop it?

Based on current reviews I don't want my HC2 to be completely unusable so what happens if you don't want the update/blinking light? A case of tough or what exactly?

Put a piece of electrical tape over it?

Not nice but it works.

I did think about taking the box apart and un-soldering the LED but then that would probably break the z-wave engine (yes I know its software!) so I didn't bother.

I hope it gets turned off....or maybe I could use it as some kind of morse code communicator pmsl!

Actually I would prefer to disable ALL lights permanently.

Ah, that doesn't even require any LUA or blocks.

You can get a fancy Fibaro, Popp or TKB switch to do it or you can just turn the power off at the wall

I hear you though! You should be able to turn them off....power for one. Would be good to have them ON whilst you reboot or startup etc but then turn off after 30secs or something, or at least have an option to do it.

Sorry, no way to do this without cutting the Internet connection or physical modification into hardware.

Surely you can change things so that it, maybe, does it for 5 minutes a day or something and then stops? Can't be that difficult surely?

Oh, btw, any ideas on my qu on config forum about PIN codes?

I put response in this thread, but I'm afraid it will not satisfy your needs. Indeed I had some time-off from forum, I will try to participate a little more again.
