Question

To everyone

Does anyone know how to perform an offsite back up. One of the risk I have is theft. If I have a house break in, they will grab what ever is easy to carry with out actually knowing what they are stealing.

If they steal the HC2, it will be a nightmare to get everything up and running again.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

I have a suggestion BEG Fibaro like the rest of us for this COMMON SENSE function and wait for the next new feature to take its place like a plugin for your mums toaster!

Seriously do a search! there is a little bit about it to say the least

So you paid a lot of money for your HC2 and assumed you would be able to perform backups like any other system on the market? Sorry! Fibaro thinks it's good enough to perform backups of files from a fragile flash memory into the same fragile flash memory. What could possibly go wrong?

Technically you can unmount the builtin USB memory and clone it yourself in another system but your warranty will likely go out the Window.

The USB key has security which is linked to the hc2 it can only be done in there lab! So if it develops a fault then I hope you have a few weeks spare a friend at dhl and about £100!

With micasaverde vera lite you can do this as simple as downloading the backup file.

That is embarrassing for Fibaro because the Fibaro backup is useless. It is not even a full backup.

I've heard a rumour it is fixed in version 6.x alpha!
