Netatmo plugin V4 fail

Question

Posted

As every Netatmo developer knows you have a limited amount of requests to get data from the Netatmo developer interface.

Fibaro obviously doesn't know that. After some time the plugin stops working because of this reason!

Okay thats a good one...thats why the data is not updated after a time...

Is the time every 10 minutes?

Honestly I didn't even test it. But if you have severals Netatmo sensors you have to call for the data several times. Therefore the request can add up and reach the limit. Especially if you are using other apps for Netamo such as Weather Pro.

This is what I learned by writing my own Netatmo plugin. And I'm not even getting paid for this.

So if you disconnect internet to your HC2 you should get data again if you reconnect after 60 minutes.

I guess they are just flooding the Netatmo server with requests. Same goes for Philips Hue.

    Good point

We need a timer option in the plugin

Update every 5 minutes will be okay for me.. with 8 devices...<100 per hour.

Every 5 min should be ok. Any more i think will start becoming a problem with heating. As it needs "live" input. I know when i tried 10-15min where i used a sensor instead of netatmo that the heater would sometimes heat 5-10min too much heating the room 0.5-1 degree sometimes 2 degrees to much.

But how can i change this? Or does the person behind the plugin change this?

The plugin is LUA only and gets the data from a PHP script. Not so easy to share unfortunately.

ah ok i created VD as well based on sztywniak's code, but modified to pol the php on my hosting every 10 mins and it works smoothly. Not so pretty as the official plugin though
