Samsung Plugin - V04.030 - Lua Commands not working

Question

Posted

Anyone had luck to run Action commands from LUA to control the Samsung TV using the latest Plugin (part of the V04.030 HC2 package).

I used to have a virtual device to control my smart samsung tv earlier. I was able to run lua or even block scenes and get them to control this virtual samsung tv. Samsung TVs are picky and require authentication all the times, hence when the device was first created All Share settings in the TV asks for approval. However, I was able to run those LUA commands all the time.

Now, I moved into the Samsung Plugin, and it managed authentication, and now functional. However, it does not show up in Block Scenes. In LUA scenes, the command actions show up, however, whenever the scene runs, nothing happens on the TV, but then TV becomes uncontrollable by the plugin device anymore

It looks like the TV is looking for some extra authentication or something (which I assume is handled by the plugin total script), but since the command comes stripped from the authentication, the TV denies this device. The only way to solve it, is by deleting the plugin device and creating a new one

Any idea how to solve this?

Does it mean that all Plugin Devices will not be controlled through scenes?????

Hi! I have the same problem. Reinstalling process of the virtual device didn't even created a buttons. I guess this is a firmware with new or enabled / disables LUA functions causes this problems.

Slightly offtopic but where can these commands be found? Are they documented somewhere? I mean, what commands can be issued in LUA scenes to control Samsung TV using this plugin (providing that it works)?

Thanks!

This is not very pleasing news. You expect the plugin to be functional out of the box. This instability does not give a satisfactory or confidence level.

These commands can be found if you have HC2 and you are creating a scene with LUA. To the left side of the scripting window you should see all your devices along with their associated actions. Once selected it will be added to your scripting window with the specific action script.

    Anyone had better experience???
