Linking smoke sensors

Question

Posted

Hi,

Quick question, i have several smoke sensors installed around the house.

In case of fire i would like *all* the smoke sensors to go off. (Acoustically and visibly)

The manual states that associated devices in group 1 will get notified in case of fire.

So my question, if i associate one smoke sensor with another (in group1) will both go off (Acoustically and visibly) when an alarm is detected?

Ofcourse i could go and 'test' this myself but i'd rather not play with fire

There was many question like that and sadly the answer is still no, mainly because Smoke Sensors are battery devices (with optional DC power but still designed mainly for battery use) which means they can not receive any communication unless you wake them up.

I associate my sirens and a pathway to doors with spotlights etc...

I have one of those on the outside wall! So EVERYONE knows my house is in trouble...

the default program for fireplace flickers led strips outside on my porch like fire and when its burglary its lapd and siren!

    Thanks for the response!

With batteries this was to be expected, but i was kind of hoping with mains dc connected it would behave as a regular always-on device. Now i have a reason to buy the upgrade once it's ready
