What Led Band will work with Fibaro RGBW Control

Recommended Posts

Hello! I have a HC2 and some Fibaro FGRGBWM-441 RGBW Controllers. I'm planning to buy some Color Led Bands from amazon.co.uk but i'm not sure which of them will work with Fibaro RGBW Controller. Can you send me some links from amazon.co.uk with led bands that will work with this controller? THanks!

Give me some links from this search:

Almost any strip will work! The only thing you need is a strip and a seperate powersupply that delivers the same voltage as your strip requires.

Jus connect the powersupply to the input pins of the RGBW controller, and the tsrip iself to the proper output pins. Then set the controller to either RGB or RGBW, depending on type of strip (with ot without white channel). That's all there is to it.

The RGBW controller just pulses power to each channel in the proper frequency to visualiy obtain the color you want.

In ther words, any strip will do.

But be careful with what you buy! Your link points to a lot of strip kits. Often they have a remote control or some sort, sometimes with a strip controller embedded in the powersupply. That' not what you want to have. You need a strip and a PS, nothing more.

    Hi there.

I have used many LED strip from Amazon, eBay and different online LED stores.

One of the best RGBW strips i have bought is the below: -

This is one of the brightest strip i have ever used. knocks spots off of all the rest. I will take a while to be delivered but well worth it.

Photos can be provided if needed to show the amount of light given off.

    I hope this helps.

all of the RGBW strips I tried have terrible yellow, is this the case for you guys as well? Like more greenish than yellow

I will get a photo sent when I get home. The one I have is pure white, not got a blue or orange tinge, just pure White.

I know what you mean though. Some give an old fashion, orangey white colour.

It's dual row strip, so one dedicated for white and the other RGB.

Only downside is it's about 20 day delivery time from China. Well worth the wait though!

Hallamnet, thank you for sharing info with us. I want to buy the same band and i want to know if i need a RGBW controller for it or Fibaro RGBW Controller is connected directly to led strip and there is not necessary for a separate controller also? Thanks!

    Hi again.

All you will need is just one of the Fibaro RGBW controllers and a power supply.

The PSU I bought was a bit over the top so I can add more on to it. A 10 amp one should be fine.

The one i bought is the following: -

Thank again for sharing info...I'll have around 18m of led strip devided in 4 places. for each of them i'll need separate power supply? the longest one will have 6.8m, so what kind of power supply i need? exactly the one you provided or there are cheaper ones? Thanks!

    Hi again.

sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

If you want all of the LED strips to be independent (doing different things) then you would need separate controllers for each strip and separate PSU's.

If you want them all to run at the same time with the same lighting patterns, then you could use 1 fibaro controller and PSU but you would need to use some LED amplifiers that you can get off of ebay or Amazon. I think each channel on the fibaro led controllers are rated @ 6 amps. this is normally what 5 meters of LED will need to be powered.

    I hope this helps.

I found with my dabbling, 4x quadrants each with 10m led strips, that sometimes it is better to take care in selecting the psu you use; some have a voltage drop across the length of strip such that the light at the start is a little different in shade to that on the end (in may case where I joined 2x5m strips). It may be that you need to use a psu over shorter lengths so for 18m, say every 5-6m but connect them with rgbw amplifiers so that you need only 1 fibaro rgbw controller.

i have a couple of these from amazon, they are only RGB tho but work a treat

They come with a controller which can be ditched...couldnt find anything similar without a controller.

Thank you for reply. I can't use all together with one Fibaro RGBW controller because my led strips are in different rooms so how to use all strips with one controller???

if they are in separate room, most practical (and expensive) would be to use separate power supply units and fibaro RGBW modules. You can then have some LUA code to sync the colors though.
