Yesterday at 17:00 i removed a wire from my boiler control panel and put my heating and hot water back to Fibaro control.

"Are you sure, there is snow forecast!!" My wife said with a slight note of fear

Sure this is a stable release don't worry you will have nice hot water and a warm house when you get home from work.

"but you are away all week, what if it all goes wrong?"

Look don't worry why would it fail.

So I get in the car and start the drive north.

30 mins later my phone rings.

Yes love any problems? This time a little fear in my voice. Cold shower. No radio? Coffee machine not turned on?

"I just logged on to the Fibaro and it says BETA. You told me it was a proper release!" A little bit of anger

It is it is just something that happens when you put a beta backup on a stable release.

"Why did you do that? Does that work?"

Well was the water hot.

"Yes"

Was the house warm.

"Yes"

Well looks like it does then.

"You will have to come home if it goes wrong"

Yes love.

17:00 phone goes wife calling

Bla bla bla bla

30 minute and not a single mention of Fibaro.

22:00 phone goes wife calling

Bla bla bla bla

Another 30 minutes and still not a mention of Fibaro. So tentatively I ask if the house is warm and water is hot.

"Yes of course. Why would it not be?"

Please nobody tell her!!!!

Lucky you!

Today I had 1 second (barely notice'able) power shortage. I only know it because my Synology sent me a report from UPS. That was enough for my Fibaro UBS'es to be inaccessible and return nil once when temperature was read by my heating script (can't use heating panel as it overheats my wooden floors). Of course that was enough for virtual device to die forever.

Result: Our bedroom temperature is now 16 degrees. I guess my honey will be as cold tonight...

Just turn the power off and pretend it is a power cut. She will keep you warm then because it won't be your fault.

    robmac, nice hint! Thanks!

PS. Seems like you have a lot of practice. Have you used Fibaro for a while now or what?

She might kill me yet. She may think it is worth it so she can live away from our house.
