Foscam IP Camera

Hi,

I have just purchased a foscam FI8918W. I selected the model from a thread on this forum which listed the model numbers of foscam that work with HC2.

But my camera doesnt show any picture or video. Its just a blank and black screen.

If I tick to display the camera image on the main page, then it does show a picture or a snapshot. But then it doesnt change or move.

If anyone has had similar experiences or knows how to get it working; please help.

any help or comments are much appreciated.

I did refer to the list before buying the camera and did infact select the model number from the list itself. I thought there is much information available on Foscam cameras here on the forum so in case if something doesnt work i can get helpl...BUT the command and paths provided there do not work at all for me.

Instead i got a reply from alandee, in other group and he gave me these commands which I think you have provided it to him...as he mentioned your name !!!

Right:

decoder_control.cgi?command=6&user=user&pwd=password

Left:

decoder_control.cgi?command=4&user=user&pwd=password

Up:

decoder_control.cgi?command=2&user=user&pwd=password

Down:

decoder_control.cgi?command=0&user=user&pwd=password

snapshot path : snapshot.cgi?user=user&pwd=password

One just needs to change "user" and "password" fields.

But as you can see, the commands for STOP and MJPG are missing...so at the moment,I can only get my camera to move left, right, up and down. Still no picture or video.

So, if you have STOP and MJPG commands...please help us by posting them here....

So, if you have STOP and MJPG commands...please help us by posting them here....

Try this for stopping:

decoder_control.cgi?command=5&user=user&pwd=password

And for MJPG I only have (username and password are provided on their own fields):

video.cgi

Tried these as well...still no picture or video at all....so far i can only get my camera to move around and up down from HC2.

Also, Do you know the logic behind "Send STOP after movement command." tick box option?? Coz when i keep it ticked these commands stop working as well and the camera wouldnt move at all.

If i keep it unticked, it works but doesnt stop until i hit the pause button.

whereas ideally, it should move only little bit in accordance with clicks then stop.

When ticked, HC2 should send first command for moving camera and following that command for stopping camera movement.

Did you already check that your camera firmware is updated to newest firmware version?

The camera will not work without entering the following

IPADDRESSCAM:88/cgi-bin/BGIProxy.fcgi?usr=USERNAME&pwd=PASSWORD&cmd=setSubStreamFormat&format=1

just exchange

IPADDRESSCAM xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

USERNAME admin or what you use

PASSWORD

... and as told by Carmar74 on other thread, camera can be requested to move just by steps, so there is no need for independent stopping request.

Things are all working for me now but only in chrome...i think my i.e. is outdated...will update it and find out...but at least for now they do work in chrome for me.

The commands that worked for me are:

JPG PATH: snapshot.cgi?user=*******&pwd=******

MJPG PATH: videostream.cgi?user=******&pwd=******

TURN LEFT : decoder_control.cgi?command=6&user=*****&pwd=*****

TURN RIGHT: decoder_control.cgi?command=4&user=******&pwd=******

MOVE UP :decoder_control.cgi?command=0&user=****&pwd=******

MOVE DOWN: decoder_control.cgi?command=2&user=*****&pwd=*****

STOP CAMERA MOVEMENT : decoder_control.cgi?command=5&user=*****&pwd=******

Anyone wanting to use these will jus have to put their camera log in username and password in these commands.

moving camera one step at a time so that no stop commands are required for individual movements performed.

I have a new HD Foscam IP camera FI9853EP

 

Just ad this camera on my HC2 and get things working

 

These steps I made with the following settings

 

Ad device - Camera

Select IP Cam  (no username and password)

 

advanced settings:

 

Ad your IP adres with port number

 

JPEG path:

192.168.178.20:20/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD&

 

 

MJPG path

192.168.178.20:88/cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

 

 

select JPG

 

and your cam is rolling.

 

When selected MJPG it does not work, even the link is working on vlc.

And with selecting JPG with 6 seconds interval you still see camera as roling video - no snapshots.

n "Advanced Setting" adds the following expression in all camera commands : user = xxxx & pwd = yyyy .

where:

- Xxxx = user administrator camera

- Yyyy = password of that user administrator camera

Example : Where it says you have to put snapshot.cgi : snapshot.cgi user = xxxx & pwd = yyyy (putting obviously your username and password) ?

4) Do the same with the other boxes / commands

Does anyone know if ether HCL or HC2 support h.264 stream?

 

I have bought a foscam FI9805E two days ago and I cant get it to work with fibaro anyhow.

there is no picture no video or any PTZ movements.

It just says "no video"

 

 

If anyone has any info on this please share it....

I also have jpg now only on the home screen though.

 

But same problem that u have, no MPEG or video when i click on the camera screen on HCL.

glad could help.

my settings on jpg is a video. you see the time normal with seconds.

I did a 6 seconds interval to test if it is video or picture. With the interval setting you have to see the time jump every 6 seconds. And that is not my case.

 

when i delete only jpg, still has video. 

Delete mjpg setting, no picture.
