Mesh network reconfiguration - wakeup needed?

Do I really have to wakeup battery powered devices or can I just wait until the device wakes up?

i have still a very small understanding in this world, but in what i understand you have to push the sensor 3 times on button b.

At least that is what i have done.

    That's true. However the sensors wake up every few hours anyway. The question is if I can just wait for the wakeup or if the reconfiguration breaks.
