I've got a duplex.
An HC2 is on the upper floor along with about 10 other powered devices.
The lower floor has another 10 powered devices.
The problem is that the signal does not penetrate through the floors at all.
The things I have tried:
1) Purchased 4 range extenders hoping to allow the signal to hop between the floors using the stairwell. An unfortunate positioning of the switchboards ensures that this doesn't work.
2) Purchased a HCL to be used a remote gateway. Unfortunately, the HC2 is on v4.031 and the HCL is on v3.593. This makes the HCL incompatible as a remote gateway.
so Q1: When is the HCL getting an update that allows it to work as a remote gateway to HC2?
3) I've tried to use an external z-wave antenna to boost the signal of the HC2, but this doesn't work well either. Le sigh.

Another HC2 seems to be a quick solution, but the price is kinda high :/
Any help would be much appreciated!
Otherwise the system is working well. Very few glitches.
