Maximum Range for Zwave installation

Question

Posted

We are planning to do an installation for a client but would like to know from the experts on the forum if the following range is possible?

HCL will be installed in reception area. The client have 29 tents where he wants aircon and geyser controlled by zwave. First tent is 85 meters away from reception and tents are space 10-15 meters from each other with the furthest tent 500 meters away from reception.

No obstacles between tents or reception.

Any advise appreciated

    maybe knx,

perhaps there are people overhere that can tell it will work

it just my idea zwave won't work

and with fibaro you can not check how "strong" the neibourghs are

(so with other software, you can)

Just install a HCL hidden in one of the tents and then run it into the reception via a wired LAN connection to another station (or just the network). If the tents aren't made of concrete, the 15 m gap shouldn't be a problem. I have 15 cm steel reinforced concrete decks in my house and even so, the one unit in the basement has no comms issues.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

Is it possible to run 2 HCL's but only having one as the controlling device?

    yet that is possible

remember: in a home envirement and things don't wotk it's not a big deal

in a company it is a big deal

when you park a second hc2 in a tent with tourists and something happens with the second hc2 (network down or no power in the tent) nothing will work for all the tents
