    Tekvibes,

Got it working finally, =] it's very good but has got its limitations due to my laptop mic - what do you use for it to add it into every room, etc what do you recommend.

You can change some commands if needed via the XML. I also changed SARAH's name to Eleanor. Not really needed to change in the XML but for aesthetics's sake...

I use 2 Kinects. 1 is connected directly to the server (intel NUC), the other one is connected in another room through 2 USB over ethernet adapters (1 at server, 1 at Kinect). You can also use the S.A.R.A.H app on a tablet or phone. I hear people have good results with that although I have not used that myself. The new Kinect from XBOX One is the best but also the most expensive. You can buy a used xbox 360 Kinect for about 20-40 € on Ebay and a PC adapter for about 10 €. If placed right and sensitivity is set up correctly 1 Kinect can be used from different rooms. I suggest to try with 1 Kinect and see from there if you need more. Also you will see that there are 2 bat files for the Kinect, the normal and windows version. Play bit with both and see where you got the best result. I use the normal files and rarely have to repeat a command. Another thing to mention is that the XBOX One Kinect can only be used on USB 3.0 and needs at least Windows 8.0

    Oo thanks, that's really useful

Is it possible to get a Kinect setup on a raspberry pi for it to be 'standalone' in a room.

Or what would be the built in solution do you think to have it in every room.

I guess if you could get the sound transported it would be possible. Someone used little usb sound cards throughout the house on Raspberry's which worked for him. Don't really know how your french is but the Google+ group from SARAH is really very thorough!! Although Google translate is not the best, I guess it does the job if really needed.
