Hidden Feature in v4.32 ---- Presence Simulator

You would probaly not expect it with the new z-wave engine and it hasn't been mentioned or documented by Fibaro but v4.32 has the same Presence Simulator of v3.59

V4.32 HC2 can switcht on devices without you knowing it, no scenes or scripts, it just do the magic itself. Isn't that just great. You do not have to make a lua script or vd to get prescene being simulated.

The only bug I found, and I wil log it in bugzilla, is that if you are at home you can't switch of the presence simulator. That's a bit annoying. It is possible that you wake up at night and sirene is switch on or all you bedroom lights are on. Maybe Fibaro can let me know how I can switch of the presence simulator.

And i am also convinced until proven otherwise that this is not the new zwave engine! options have been disabled on purpose! polling/dead node polling/mark as dead etc...

Giving the impression things are different when in fact they are not!

Hi, I've had this issue as well with a certain relay switch.

After digging into this issue I found out that I had a small leak due to a screw which hit my electricity tube and leaked a small load of energy from the live wire to the 2 switch wires.

This way the relay switch was triggered if there was a small dip in the leaked connection.

I would suggest to disable the physical switches first (temporary) one at a time at first or test if there is a "leaked energy situation".

I my case, the issue was resolved by re-cabeling the switches with new wires.

Blusser - thanks for the suggestion. Maybe but the strange thing is it can stay a way for months and than suddenly rgbw module's, fibaro wall plugs or fibaro relay switches ar switched on. I am not the only one as you can see in link.

I have stayed on and hoped this issue would have been gone with version 4. But it isn't. I have been running the beta's and no problems with the automatic switching by HC2 but just last week with stable 4.31 it was back again. My neighbours started asking what the blue light was in the front of my house (a rgb led strip). It was switch on with no reason. In the middle of the night my bedroom lights were switch on. My Isomac Espresso machine was swicth ont etc etc.

I think it has got to do with not configured devices and most likely the rgbw modules. BUT HC2 SHOULD NEVER EVER switch devices if there is some sort of problem with a device. The proof is they just don't have a clue with the z-wave engine. Basic stuff isn't fixed but they have time to do work on a Netatmo plugin.

It proves to me that the whole programming of the software is just a laugh. And I am certain that the time spend last years is not a Z-wave redesign it just went to NEW functionality like the plugins etc.

Indeed Deanparry - the deadnode polling is just switched of. I pulled out a Fibaro wall plug and it never ever showed up as a dead node only when you try to switch it form HC2.

This is more proof of an uncomplicated process being stuffed full of bespoke complicated code!

Look at other controllers... simple code and it works a lot more more reliable!

I would love Fibaro to say "STUFF IT" lets kill our core keep the gui and write this from scratch based around open source alternatives that have just got it right because they kept it simple!

The ONLY thing that keeps me with Fibaro!

I am a person who falls for the looks too. And that is the oooooonnnnllllyyyy reason why I stayed so long. But now I am gone. Fibaro is a company of window dressing an it certainly has no quality codding people.

But you will not survive as a company as it is all about the picture.

Yeah but I wish I knew that 2 years ago. =-)

Although I'm not really unhappy with my Polish device. =-)

Does about 99% I want it to do at the moment. It's stable for me.

Stabile here too but using only Fibaro devices...
