Is there an 'added' log anywhere ??

I'm guessing there is a log like the event panel hidden away somewhere, but when i add a device, is there anywhere that i can check back ? or see what number it got assigned and make sure it is there so i rename the switch correctly rather than have to guess which of the unassigned switches it is
