Wisniowski Sliding Gate - Open/Close/Pedestrian with Fibaro

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Has anyone experience of operating a sliding gate of Wisniowski with Fibaro?

Please login or register to see this link.

Apparently it works with 24V, I as thinking of using one Universal Sensor. And to top it, it should not only open and close but also have one mode to open 3/4 of the way (for pedestrians).

Anyone has any idea/experience?

Thanks

Why Universal Sensor? That will only be able to tell you what the status is so you probably want a 2x1.5kW switch or something else.

I have i nice solution....but what kind of gateopener do you have ?

Besides the normal opening/closing by standard remotecontrol or keypad there have to be some contacts that are free to use.

Mostly it's an NO contact that you can use. NC is just as usefull.

Does your gateopener have that ? If so i will guide you further

I can open/close my gate, get a message when somebody opens the gate or my alarm goes off etc......

Hi Lode,

I also have a sliding gate with a Nice Thor motor. Now I have connected a fibaro relay switch to the step terminal of the board (on-stop-off), set the relay to auto-off after 0.5 sec so I can send impulses to the gate and it works.

BUT, it only works with the motor case off... As soon as I put the motor case back on the network loses connection to the relay. The motor case is a thick 2 mm something.. i think it is cast iron. The closest device to the gate is a wall plug like 8 meters from it (both outside in the yard)

I have 2 questions please:

1. Do you know how can i solve the range problem?

2. Is there any way to know if the gate is opened, closed or in what state so i can make scenes?

1) You don't have to put the relay inside the motor case? If you do, how about drilling a smal hole for the antenna?

2) A UBS with 2 of the shelf magnet or spring switches in either end position. Will give you open/undefined/close positions.

There is nowhere to put the module but inside the motor case. will have to think about a way to get the antenna out and protect it from rain/snow.

Sorry I don't know what UBS stands for. Can you please clarify and maybe a link ?

Thank you.

Don't you have a keypad or something else in your house to open the gate ?

If so you can use those wires, not easy to explain here

I downloaded the Nice Thor manual but there's no electrical diagram....

UBS = Universal Binary Sensor

And as joacim said the solution is using a UBS with magnetic springs but first answer my first question and then we can go on.

Nope I don't have a keypad. Just some remotes

/emoticons/default_smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="https://forum.fibaro.com/uploads/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> On the board of the motor there are open, close and step-by-step connections. To the latter I have added the relay.

Ok I now know what UBS is. I am already using some of those (fibaro ones) which I installed in some wired PIR's .

Too bad...you really need that UBS to know the state of your gate.

The supply voltage of the UBS is 9-30v so you could also build it in your motor.

I did that at my friends home,

I drilled holes in the tubes from gate and put the wires trough it.

A lot of work but you don't see any wires and everything is protected.

The only difference here that the cover of his motor was made from hard plastic and very close to his HC but hey.......don't give up there's ALWAYS a solution

My motor has on the board 24v also with a max current draw of 200 mA.

So it would not be a problem to install the UBS there.

The range problem I will solve it somehow.

But how would a UBS know how the gate is ? open/close or in what state.

Regards

PS: I just have a revelation: since the ends of travel of the gate are mechanical, wouldn't a roller shutter be better instead of the relay switch ? and after a calibration it should know exactly where the gate is?

Like joacim said you must attach your UBS to 2 shelf magnet or spring switches in either end position.

Like these :

It's a dutch site but so you know what i mean.

I don't have rollershutter switches but you can give it a try

But even if that works the possibilities are limited.

As i told you before NEVER GIVE UP

Please let me know if it works !!

Update: I solved the range issue by attaching a small IP67 box to the motor housing.

Also i tried to put a roller shutter 2 in gate mode but gave up after 1h because i couldn't figure how to wire it to the motor.
