Turn of scene with 'AND' & 'OR'.

Question

Posted

Hello.

I have a scene in my HCL to turn off some spot light.

It should turn off when there is no motion detected or when the lux value is to high.

At first it seemed to work (not 100% sure). But now it does not.

Here is my scene.

Any help apreciated.

i Know i can just make 2 scenes, one for motion and the other for lux. But would like to simplify things, to make sure the speed of the HCL is optimal..

Try to switch the 'spot on" and "motion safe" conditions in your first paragraph so that the motion is checked first.

    What are your Triggering devices?

Motion and lux below 15 is the trigger in another scene.

I dont see how changed the order of the first rule should change anything.

As in the picture, if 1 or 2 is correct then do 3.

Only enable the motion as triggering devices cause the scene is running if lux < 15...

Perhaps this fix your problems (What are your Problems with your scene?)

What is the scene actually doing? Nothing at all or is it doing something to the light? Block scenes sometimes work in mysterious ways. It is easier to help if you descrive what the scene is doing.

I faced similar issues with block scenes esp. with the sequence of triggering logic and after switching the sequence to always detect motion safe first then check if light is on, the scenes run better and no more erratic behaviour.

Same as what wienog has suggested.

Scene looks good and is working fine for me.

I want to have as few Scenes as possible.

This scene is only for turning lights off on the diningroom ('Spisestue' is danish for that)

    It should turn off if

    1) there are no activity

    OR

    2) the lux level is too high

the number 3 si the off command.

The reason for the 'OR' (Part 2) command is that, if there is activity for hours in the dinningroom, then the lights do not turn of even if the lux is too high.

So you say i should change my scene to look like this, to be stable?

Here is a sample of one scene where I have 'Or' condition and the revised sequence seems to work better.

Is it on HC2, because it is showing the () in the block scene, i dont have those in the HCL.

You will have those in HCL when v4.x is released. I used the same logic in block scene to manage another HCL (friend's place). Just does not show the fanciful () in 3.593 on HCL.

Let me try to put into words.

In a new scene, when the first 'trigger' is added, you will see the block scene automatically add two [And] after the trigger. Treat the 2nd [And] as though it is 'then' in a general 'if-then-else' logic, and the 3rd [And] as though it is 'else' when you change it from [And] to [Then].

In the first trigger portion, if there is more than one trigger, use the [+] at the end of the first trigger to add 'command' of either an 'and' or an 'or'. This forms the first () even though the () does not shows up in firmware 3.x.
