Power consumption at home

Hi,

I am having a new HCL and 2 wall plugs from Fibaro showing the power consumption. This is very nice.

I can see that the system is also showing them in comparison and as a total in topline. Very nice.

But I am planing to have a central one like the NorthQ one that can be used in the central power distribution in our house. So this is then the total and the plugs are only showing parts of it.

Can I mark this power consumption delivering device as being the master and not to add the consumption to the others?

e.g. Total = 100 - Plug 1 is 20 - Plug 2 is 35 - so the system knows the Rest is 45?

That would be nice if possible. (I think it isn't yet)

However keep in mind the NorthQ doesn't send live data. This is more to track the consumption over time. Which is what the installed meter does anyway.

I have not yet tested it, but it would seem that you can exclude the wall plugs from the consumption graphs by unticking the "Show energy consumption measurements" option for them.

 

And if you need a whole-house power consumption metering, I would suggest looking into the Aeon Labs Home Energy Meter (HEM) Preferably Gen2. However - a heads up here: do a research of the forums first to see which firmware version works with Fibaro. I have a version 1.2 one and individual clamp reports are not working. I'm in process of RMA'ing it right now, to get it swapped for a version 1.8 which should work.
