I just bought a HCL and just realized that there seem to be some more differences than just LUA/VOIP.

One of the things I saw that seems to come with 4 is the Netatmo Integration. Is that something I can expect also for the HCL or is that only HC2 because of LUA?

I am currently not sure if it it worth to pay additional 300 euro for just Netatmo to be shown in the same interface. I still like the interface from Netatmo and programming my netatmo thermostat is fine on their interface too.

Any info already available what is coming to HCL with Version 4 so that I can easier decide to stay with HCL or maybe change to HC2- but again 300€ additional not to have good arguments.

Thanks for your thoughts

Markus

i recommend strongly to buy home center 2 and not lite version. you will need to use lua and virtual devices for sure if you really want house automation. The colour block "programming" is not really useful.

i am sure you won't be disappointed. With hclite you will only may remote control your home. But home automation is only possible with lua

I would recommend another company. Currently if you would buy a hc2 with firmware 4 it would not work. It's just a 500 euro brick. They made changes to the firmware but they are not able to fix the bugs.

If someone was buying a HC2, what firmware should it be on for it to work at its best?

Can you choose which firmware to upgrade to?

New devices are on 4.031 and there is no possibility to go back to 3.X, so if you want to stick to it, you need to find some old stock device. But for system build from basis I would strongly recommend going with 4.042.

But from the looks of the forum, their seems to be lots of issues with firmware version 4.

Early versions were not as good as we would like them to be, however most problems came from migration between these two versions.

If a lot of problems are coming from migration, how about providing a way to recover directly to a clean V4, I would be happy to start from a clean V4 if it was going to create a more stable system ?

I meant migration when there are devices already in the system, migration with 'clean' system should not cause any troubles.

v4.042 works really good for me. It's stable and fast.

Upgrading is optional, but you can not revert to version earlier than the one product was shipped with.

I take it you can then choose which firmware to upgrade to? And not just default to the latest one?

No, there is no way to update to given version, but you can choose to not update, or to stick to v3 (if it was the version controller was shipped with)
