Problem with saving Parameters

Question

Posted

Hi and wow a great new look on the forum...

I have been playing around with the Fibaro Home Center 2 and im not sure if this falls under Gateway or Module but i will throw it in here...

The thing is that when i try to save a Parameter on a device from the Home Center 2 and i click the save button the parameter doesn't get updated and just returns to its original state when i refresh the page...

Is that normal or is it just with me (all my devices are in good range of the home center 2)

I get the same thing. I wasn't able to update parameters in 4.032 either, but a workaround was to go to the parent device (the one that's always hidden) and update the parameters from there.

Unfortunately, that's not possible either anymore, it throws a Javascript error (at least in Safari and Chrome). Maybe that workaround wasn't to suppose to work anyway, who knows.

I had a hope that all my Aeon Smart Switches would work in this version, at least with some parameter manipulation, but no luck..

I am able to change some of the parameters for all Fibaro devices in 4.032 and now 4.033 using Safari (latest version 8.0.3 on Yosemite 10.10.2) without javascript error.

You may want to update Java to the latest version, depending on which version of Mac OS X you are running. Yosemite 10.10.x needs Java 8 as Java 7 and early is not supported though it works on most times but I have seen some java related error on other products' GUI when using Java 7 on Yosemite.

Sorry to have to contradict you. I doubt The web UI uses Java. Some weeks ago I didn't have java on my mac and it worked. If it used Java, I would have seen a message box from Oracle at startup, wouldn't I? Also, from wikipedia: "Despite some naming,

 are otherwise unrelated"

It is recommended to clear all caches, as you know from the release notes. If you don't do that, problems mostly disappear the next day because the cached pages will have been invalidated.

If tested with 2 mains powered and one battery operated device (wake up battery devices!). Changed 1 or 2 parameters. Nothing about it...

What device are you talking about? What parameter are you trying to change?

I believe glennsp is the one with issue changing parameters whereas I mentioned "...without javascript error.".

I'm not able to set or change any parameters too for the Z-Wave.Me Wall Controller WALLC (WME_WCD2).

After pressing "save", the page reloads and nothing happend. Even waking up the device does not help. I also can not apply the parameters to the parent (hidden) device. Pressing the "Add parameter"-button has no effect on the parent device.

update: the problem was already reported to the bugtracker:

Please login or register to see this link.

Hope fibaro will solve it soon. By now, I do not have a battery powered wall z-wave controller witch works with fibaro

I have the same problem with all z-wave.me switches I have and I have like 4 different types. I cannot for the love of deity understand why it's so effing hard to get this right. I'm guessing they don't actually test their code on the devices. Maybe we should send them some hardware to test? :/

My devices are the Fibaro Smoke Sensor and the Motion Sensor that are not updating the parameters... :/

Going to try to install java 8 on newest version of Yosemite and see if it has something to say, as well change to Safari from Chrome...
