Just found this info on Fibaro Facebook page (

):

David Waze:  "Hello, do you plan to implement to zwave plus chipset into your modules next months ?"

Fibaro Global: "David, we are currently working on porting our devices to new platform."

What does this mean Fibaro? Are you working on a new controller (HC3) or a module/upgrade for HC2 with zwave plus?

What do you mean by "new platform"?

+1 for interest to find out roadmap of Fibaro before decide to invest in more of their (current) devices

There's a new dimmer module on the horizon i heard. March time.

All new devices and new controller!

Serious?

How about backward compatibility?

Posted

New platform = version 4?

Posted

Nope to sync all it should be: New platform = next gen = gen 5 = sw v5 = HC5...

    Can Fibaro reply?

Reply from Fibaro Global on Facebook is very vage. This sort of info generates a lot of speculation..

New platform should mean Gen5 (zwave plus) hardware.

    Posted

It has to be new hardware and devices! But Fibaro never speculate on new hardware! Waiting until CES 2016 and 5.030 stable

There should be backwards compatibility for gen5 devices but to ensure the full use of them HC3!

Fibaro did speculate on facebook, nobody else did. Fibaro Global gave this answer.

What does this porting devices to new platform mean? It must be new hardware, because software v4 (with "new" zwave engine) is already released.

It would be great have info about z-wave+ inclusion in the roadmap, Fibaro should be in front of their competitors....or in this case shouldn't be behind

Why do you think they should be ahead of the competition ? They are behind on everything else so am not sure why they would be ahead this time. Adding plugin functionality to V4 is about 4 years too late, same goes for not supporting external devices such as RFXCOM .

    New ZWave engine!

Not new generation support! Big difference!

It must not. They have still just released beta of 4.x, and hands full on porting devices into it.

It would be nice to get V4 that actually works. Not gonna happen until Q2.

They can't seem to get things working properly on current 'old' technology ..  jeebus help us if they try and embark on a new hardware platform and the associated software !!
