Danfoss taking temperature from motion sensor

Question

Posted

Hi guys, I need advice on Danfoss LC13 termsotats.

The situation is - big house, HC2, 10x Secure SRT321 and 40xDanfoss LC13

The radiators are hiden (because of design) so the danfoss LC13 will be hiden with them, in something like little small space, so it does not affect the design of the room.

The question - In the room we have 18 degrees. If I set on the termostat the temperature of 22 degrees, it will change the temperature of danfoss to 22 degrees (I guess I need a scene for this). So how does this work?

1 -Will the Danfoss LC13 close the radiator when the room temperature is 22 degrees or

2- will the Danfoss LC13 close the radiator when its own internal thermometer measure 22 degrees even though the room temperature will be lower

Basically I need to know, if the Danfoss LC13 can work with temperature measured by different sensor.

And second question, what would you guys use for this many radiators. It is 40 of them and I would maybe recommend to use electrical valve with relays... What do you say?

I just introduced Danfoss in my instalation and I have the same doubts as you have

No information in the documentation at all

Normally the Danfoss sets the temperature for the room not looking at the temperature near the radiator but if the radiator is enclosed I have no clue. What you can do is to put a temperature sensor in the room, set the thermostat to a desired temperature and then check the sensor to see how long it takes until the room temperature gets to the desired level. If it is more then 3 hours I would say that the enclosing of the radiator is to blame... Or the room is too big

The Danfoss will set the temperature as it reads in the room to what you have set. So if you set it to 22 then it will close itself when it thinks the room has reached that temperature.
If you have an external temperature sensor in the room you could use this in a scene to open and close the thermostat in the room when a desired temp is reached.
The other option is to control the boiler based on the temperature. Why do you want to use 40 valves? Do you want to turn off the heating in these rooms at certain times or can you control the overall temperature and timings from the boiler?

That is only partially true, Danfoss is indeed switching off when it thinks room is warm enough, but only way to override its internal temperature sensor by external one is through kind of binary control - e.g. if it is too hot use scene to set Danfoss to minimal setting to turn it off.

I'm a little bit confused.

Does the LC13 work with an external termostat(like the motion sensor) or not?

I set the motionsensor to be the main termostat for the (let's say) bathroom.

The LC13 is hidden behind some coverings, so no real room temperatur will be recognized.

How to do this right now? Can I work with the heating panel or do I need to do some scene programmin (like j.nowacki posted)?

using HC2 version 4.0.49

I think you can only the the thermostat what temperature it should reach.

And it will heat up until it reaches the value it reads by itself.

So I guess you have to program it yourself and calculate the difference (real room temperature and danfoss measurement) and consider this too.

HI All.

I'm totally confused

Firstly can someone explain me what the timer next t o temp mean????

Secondly how to set up those danfoss stats.. I don't get it... I setting 25 then after some period of time danfoss goes to 18 himself...why??

And last - do you need to set up scene or you can set this in heating panel????

nest 1 - controlling zone 1 (G. Floor) and nest 2 - controlling zone 2 (1st Floor)

then I have 3 radiators at zone 1 with danfoss stats (to balance rooms - 25 in one room, 22 in second room and 19 in third room)

same in zone 2.

I want to above happened in time scale as:

zone 1 & 2 starts at 5am and off at 9 (rooms balanced 19, 22 and 25)

zone 1 & 2 holds 20 from 9am till 3pm

zone 1 on at 3pm till 9pm (rooms balanced 19, 22 and 25)

zone 2 on at 6pm till 9pm (rooms balanced 19, 22 and 25)

zone 1 & 2 holds 20 from 9pm till 5am

do i have to use pir sensor for temp reading? or use just danfoss???

also I can't fully understand IPAD and IPHONE interface - why those different ?

hope someone can answer me...

PS. Moze byc po polsku

Please do not double post, I answered your question regarding "external sensors" here already:
