Heating Panel with Danfoss not working

Question

Posted

I am going crazy. I have two Danfoss Living connect valves as I want to test what is possible with them.

Now, I could easily connect them to a room. I can control them via the Devices panel. I can set the target level via LUA (and get it back). Everything works fine.

So, I created a heating panel, added a zone and the room of the Danfoss valves to the zone and guess what - nothing happens.

If I use the manual setting in the Heating Panel, nothing happens.

What do I do wrong?

Same problem noticed yesterday, both on HCL in v3.6 and on HC2 in v4.036. And same after update in v4.037.

I think ti figured it out but need to confirm: It seems that HC2 can only handle one valve per room

    I have the same problem.

It is for sure a software problem (firmware bug).

We are currently investigating some issues related to heating panel, we will take your reports into account.

Is there any update about this? I have one huge instalation next week with 31 heating zones in 11 rooms house, and that is why I need heating panel to work, but on my setup I tried everything and I can not get it to work. The buttons in tablet are dimmed.

I am keen to know the outcome of this also...

I have 20 Danfoss valves ready to install so it would be great if Fibaro could confirm whether this issue is fixed?

    Thanks

    I can tell you -

the issue is not fixed, BUT

this is only a grafic part of Android Tablet app. You can still control the heating zone with the top button, it will work with danfoss as well.

    In iPad it works normal.

And 20 Danfoss valves - you will run into troubles. It is too many of them

I dont think this is Fibaros fault, I think this could be fault of the Danfoss and the traffic they have.

I'm using 9 Danfoss valves  and everything works as expected

Jantje1972: You have more than 1 valve in a single room?

I don't get how it should work. I want to buy them some time, but I don't how it needs to be scripted. Do you need to associate it with the actuator? If one room has the right temperature, does that valve send a "turn off" to the actuator? How does it know all valves are closed or at the right temperature and then turns off the actuator?

I'm buying 8 Danfoss Valves, as I just have one valve per room I don't expect too much problems, but I have some questions like other users.

I think that if one room reaches the desired temperature it closes that room valve, but when all the rooms reaches the desired temperature, it turns off the actuator, or should I make a script in Lua to do that?

Hope someone can clarify us, thanks.

Look, this depends a lot of your heater. If your heater is the old style (on/off) you need to do somethinig there. Shamely, Danfoss LC13 is not supporting associations, so that asks for some scenes, probably LUA. I believe something like (if the temp on the Danfoss goes higher than xy, turn on the relay switch on heater...)

But in the better case, if you have new heater with some inteligent control, you dont really need to do anything. To explain - the new heaters are basically never off, they just control they pover. So lets say your radiators are all opened (understed set temperature on them is higher then room temperature) so the water which goes to the system is comming back to heater cold, so the heater knows it has to power up. But if all radiators close, the heater is getting hot water back (as the water only goes trough the tubes and does not enter radiators) so it knows it can lower the power and just keep heating the water in the boiler...

Should work like that. Hope I am right

Thanks HomeSystem.sk, but my heater is the old style connected to Secure STR321 and SSR303. I'll have to configure Lua scripts :/ I was hopping that I don't, but unfortunately I may have too... Someone with working scripts for this situations?

One more question, I can only have one valve per room, but in "Panel -> Heating Panels -> Zone List", each zone can contain how many rooms I want to control right?

    Thanks.

I have the same situation as Morcegolas. If someone wants to share his LUA scripts, it will be appreciated. I don't have the valves yet, but I want to buy them in the near future.

Sounds a bit odd you can only have one valve per room. The other radiators in a room needs to be controlled with a valve also. When will this be fixed? Or is there some way to work around that?

My valves already arrived, and I have already configured the heating panel. For now I can say two things, if I set the temp on the valve it updates in HC2 the temp. If I update it via heating panel, if I wake up the valve it have the right temperature set by heating panel ( for example 28º ), but in HC2 Devices it shows up 10º for much refresh that I do to HC2 page ( UPDATE 2: this is also not true, if I wait a little longer it updates everything as expected ). If I set the temperature manually in the HC2 Devices homepage it updates the valve temp but don't update the temperature above the valve also! Only if I wake up valve manually ( UPDATE1: this part is not true, it updates if I wait a little longer)

So its really needed the lua script to turn ON the Heater, and consecutively turn it OFF, if anybody can help better, I have no knowledge but I'll try to do something to make it work Cafun, If it works I'll share it here.

@Cafun, I already got one working. You only have to change the Danfoss Valves IDs, and the main thermostat ID. I'm just waiting for an better opinion first and as soon I get some response for you I let you know!

Maybe you can share your code (what you've got so far). You also can PM me, if you don't want to post the partial code.

Maybe I can take a look also. I'm also not an expert, but finding my way in Lua more and more.

In response to this topic, I think I don't know how to work with manual setting in the Heating Panel. I check every room, set temp for 17º, and click the turn off, but nothing happens, what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks.

You set it at "Manual Mode" right? If you set it there, you should click Turn On. Then it should set the temperature to 17C. If you click Turn Off, you turn off the Manual Mode.

It thought it's like that, but I don't used the Heating Panel for a while now.

Thanks for your other topic. I'm going to read it tonight I think.

I go to menu -> heating panel -> select a zone so the manual and Holliday mode appear and then in manual mode I set temperature: 13°, select all zones, and click turn on. Nothing happens even after 15m, and you I only have one valve per room! :/
