Hi, do I need to have 2 hc2 for two storey home or just 1 is enough? Thank you for any answer.

You will only need one as most mains powered modules will act as a repeater

It will work but is there gonna be any delay in the reaction of the devices on the second floor? That is why it is better to use HC2 and HCL (since it is cheaper) but in another post i saw that when you update the HC2 to the latest version 4.xx it will stop working... Not nice! So the only way is to wait for the new update for HCL or to buy another HC2..

Doubt it i have a 4 floors in the house and all devices react almost instant, i cant see any difference between switching on/off a device on ground or top floor in matter of speed.

and im just using 1 hc2.

If you have enough devices you will have a nice mesh network.

Only tip i can give is when you setup your hc2, make sure you add devices close to hc2 first (non-battery), then the ones that are further away.

Once you did all the non-battery powered devices start on the battery powered ones.

Seems to work perfectly for me. No dead nodes etc. Never had one even

The powered units ( dimmers switches etc ) build the mesh, the battery devices suck it up, so start close, and I don't think it makes any difference, but I turn lights and switches on as I build out .. until the last update and doorlocks, i've not had a problem either with coverage.

    Cheers,

My house is three floors, made of solid concrete (inc intermediate floors) and I have no problems with just 1 HC2. I have it in middle of middle floor. I have 50 physical devices, no dead nodes and run 3.590.

    Hope that helps

I have a large three storey house (360 m2) made with steel reinforced concrete decks inbetween and have absolutely no range issues... Lots of Fibaro issues, but none related to range.
