Aussie version release same time as the rest of the world !

Likewise, I run the older Aeotec Gen whatever, they have been bullet proof, we still haven't got the Fibaro ones down here, now I'm kinda glad

Good to see a good option for us in Australia. The older Aeon ones were a little bulky and the Fibaro ones were suppose to hit Australia 18 months ago but we are still waiting

Why not use a real receptacle like the leviton, GE, or Insteon dual control outlet.

I see no need to use a plug in module, unless you don't want to renovate...

I have a fully restored 150 year old front half of house, and an ultra modern 6 month old rear half

In the new renovation which we are just completing, everything is wired and done with hidden switches, but, I run the older aeotec plugs now in the old part as the walls are between 400 and 600mm thick stone, with wiring pulled through the old gas lantern lines and subsequently plaster filled .. I could run the switching outside of the walls, or in the meter box but, they are so thick that they don't transmit well, ( I have trouble getting a bluetooth connection from one side to the other for the solar inverter ! ) and i considered removing some of the skirtings which are large and hiding modules behind that, but the skirtings are a little too delicate, and when we renovated we were a little too heavy handed, to let us remove them easily. I have a couple of dimmers for wake up scenes and things in the ceilings, but again, they are mostly plaster bag ceilings, and the cables are somewhat embedded.

Anyways, the plugs we utilise for the wake up lamp scenes and also for emulating life when we are away from the house, we can move a lamp to where ever it is best suited. We also use them for the chrissy lights each year, and out in the shed for when we have our wood over fired up and want to run some fans based on the temps. We have also used the plugs for party lighting, and more recently in the observatory I use the plugs on an extension cord to run a dehumidifier, and my camera, and my scope mount ...the reporting of the power lets me know my expensive equipment is safely dry and operating out there during dewey nights while I work away inside. We do the same at the farm with floor lamps, television, radio and generally keeping things interesting when we aren't there ... so yeah, I like em for the extra bits that don't warrant a fixed install, or where portability is key. I don't have switches on many of my new area gpo's either, so I'll probably utilise them there for multimedia, the projector and amp switching till I get around to working out exactly where we want them in the new bit, but it's easy enough to fit a permanent switch in the newer build

Cool...Looking forward to see the plug with UK-pins, and with power metering function.

    Extracted from Aeotec:

    Spend less.

Monitor and understand exactly how much money the devices plugged into Smart Switch 6 are costing you to run, then create a schedule to reduce your electricity bill.

if that was possible in the uk i would say yes! but we have a severe lack of devices here! its all crap that hangs out a socket... so that what we have to do!
