Question

Hi all, to those in the knowledge these will probably seem like a stupid questionx but I'm just starting out in learning LUA in prep for hopefully getting myself an HC2 for real. I have many years experience in programming in other languages so I am hopeful this won't be too difficult!
So here we go.
1) The first step in my learning curve is to get my head around the LUA language. To do this I have downloaded the LUA coding environment which I have installed on my Windows 8 PC. Using this I can write code which doesn't involve the HC2 specific elements. My understanding is there is a set of Fibaro specific statements which begin "fibaro:" (without the quotes) is that right? I found

which lists what I believe to be the current Fibaro functions2) Am I right in thinking there is no way to emulate an HC2 environment (for learning purposes) on a Windows (or even Linux) machine?
3) When running on the HC2 platform can a Virtual Device script render images in the HC2 UI? So for example if I have a requirement to display an album cover image in the HC2 UI (which I have retrieved via a web service) is this possible?
Many thanks for your help and patience...we all had to start somewhere
