Hi All,

I just bought my HC2 and a motion sensor to start with. I'm afraid I already have a little problem

Please login or register to see this image.

/emoticons/default_smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="https://forum.fibaro.com/uploads/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Device was added without any problems.

But I see that the values are not correct (Temperature and Lux values). The movement is no problem, that works perfectly.

Also the status is: "Waiting for wakeup".

Can someone say me what to do?

Thanks!

Grtz

You can ignore it. That mean HC got some information for device. Battery device get configuration data only when it is awake (you can wakeup it manually or wait a bit (few hours) when device will awake self by default device is reporting temperature when it change by 1C and lux when it change by 200LUX, you can change it by parameters. You can force sending last reports from temperature and lux by 3 clicks on button B

Hi A.Socha, thanks for your fast answer! Temperature will be OK I think, but the LUX isn't correct i'm afraid. So at the moment, I'm in the living room with all the lights on, and it's only giving me 23 lux, seems a little bit little, no?

Lux measuring for Fibaro Motion Sensors stop functioning correctly/accurately since HC2 firmware 4.036 onwards.

(Note: Cannot remember if it started with 4.035 or not but it was working great in 4.033 and 4.032).

Now all my scenes based on LUX cannot function properly due to the lux measuring bug. It does not respect parameters set (eg. parameter 40) and behaves in its own way such as when lux drops, it does not report back to HC2 within short interval until the next scheduled reporting (parameter 42) or wake-up interval, hence scenes do not work timely/properly.

Same problem here, and when i change parameter and save, the parameters go back to defaults.

Tried to awake device, but it goes back to "waiting for wakeup" in a few seconds

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the sensor.  My first attempt on installing my motion sensor.  I had strange temperature and Lux readings. They were either waiting for wake up or sensor data not available.  Removing the device and reinstalling it fixed the problem.

That should fix the issue of no reporting. There are still other lux-related bug for Fibaro motion sensors in 4.040 which is preventing it from reporting lux readings timely under certain situation, and will not report 0 lux when in total darkness. These have been confirmed by Fibaro (in another thread).

    Hi All,

Can someone tell me what the "normal" lux values are?
Like, when it's dark, you have 0 Lux? Normal light in day like 270 Lux? ..

    Thanks

it all depends on where you point your lux sensor at.... my outside Aeon lux/motion sensor is reading 1000 lux (max value), and is looking straight down from the roof, when it's daylight. My 2 inside Fibaro Lux sensors are reading 150-250 lux during daytime.

At night all sensors read about 0-1 lux.... this works fine for me to use as a reference for switching on garden lights, inhouse lights and as a alternative for the sunset/sunrise variables.

    cheers

    Hi All,

Now I have 2 light sensors (1 from fibaro and 1 from aeon)

I placed them behind the window. See attached the results.

    Almost 140 lux of difference.

In 4.040 (or may be started with 4.037), there is a known bug (acknowledge by Fibaro developer) that the lux value of Fibaro Motion Sensors will not drop to 0 lux. Refer bug 3042.

    Frakke,

I fear you will never get much closer than that.

I once put ALL my temperature sensors (some 21) into the same place. There were not two sensors with the same reading, ALL gave different readings. The smaI fear with Lux it will be not much better than with temperature.

very strange things too.. I have 4 Fibaro sensors and dont see the temperature move on them. I am also not able to change the parameters for num 60 and 64. Even if I set it, it reverts to default values of 1 and 0.
