Good news with the new dimmer... Feels like I should be requesting royalties! But good to hear you have taken the advice Fibaro and are now offering a dimmer with a trailing edge profile! I will be stress testing it though to ensure it is truly safe with LEDs before I start fixing them to my installations.

This was not advertised as a feature of controller. It is a feature of modules, and every one of our devices advertised as capable of wireless updates is perfectly fit for that purpose. I understand that you are upset about the fact you can not utilize it because of controller version, but stating it is not present in devices is simply not true.

saying it is possible to update the module is not true. It requires the controller to do the update. If not, then please tell me how I can update the Fibaro Motion sensor software right this minute to the latest version ? You can not, because there is no method without the controller, so you can dance around semantics, but the truth of the matter is, it is not possible to update the firmware of any module now.

Lol... That is not how consumer law works in the EU. If you buy a car with climate control, just to learn that you can't use it because you haven't bought the right control panel as well, that is a deficient product - and the seller/manufacturer must either compensate or alliviate the problem. So that argument doesn't hold true. "Congratulations on your purchase of this new bicycle. Unfortunately, you have bought the version without pedals, so you will have to pull your bike around. But it is great for storing stuff in the basket - which by the way is an accessory"

I'm glad to see i'm not the only one that has issue with Fibaro's interpretation. By that reckoning, there would never be an issue, and i'm sure that is how they comprehend that there are no issues with the software, as i was told, and as such was not entitled to a refund as it was working as expected. Until Fibaro get there head around that fact, they are doomed. Nobody expects everything to work perfectly, but what we do expect is that you acknowledge the issue instead of trying to build some pathetic excuse so as not to incur blame. 1 day with the legal department must be part of the fibaro induction.

The new Gen 5, which I have is yes.

As I said before, for now it is simply not possible to utilize this feature, but this does not mean devices do not have it. It will be available in the future once proper tools are embedded in our controller and updates become available.

So you are saying that only a Fibaro HomeCenter will have the ability to upgrade the firmware of devices ? Nowhere in any documentation does it state that.

Dear Fibaro dude - fact of the matter: you have advertised a feature which - in the view of the consumer - does not exist! Whether it is there in the firmware somewhere matters absolutely nothing. If the user cannot benefit from it, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ADVERTISE IT! That is a fact of law - do it and you are guilty of false advertising. If you want to, I'd be happy with adviing you which law to look to, but a kind piece of advice: stop the big words and playing tough, because at some point, someone will become fed up with it and launch a case against you. Believe it or not, Poland has become part of EU, so you are working under the same rules as everyone else.

So if you were smart, you'd start appologizing to your customers, admit they are right and print a retraction of the feature - clearly advertising it as a future feature and offer some sort of compensation, the clever way would be to offer something cheap to you. Because if someone does put a lawyer on your tail, you won't be able to decide the compensation anymore.

So how about getting on the customers side here and admit fault. You have been bad - you have been overselling your product! Shame on you. Now; admit and move on... Because you are pissing me off - and I am crazy enough to actually pay for said lawyer - I know a real good one at it. So what will it be?

Dalle1985, i've already started the case since last December. I took it up with Advertising standards in Ireland but as Fibaro are based in Poland they have been in touch with there Polish counterparts so I'm just waiting to hear back, but Fibaro have provided much clarification in this thread.

I don't expect Fibaro to be around much longer to be honest. V4 has been an unmitigated disaster, products announced over 18 months ago and no mention since, no documentation, no compatibility matrix, plugins are pretty much a disaster, hardware is being left behind by most other vendors, most notably Aeon Labs which operate in similar space. I'm really struggling to find anything to compliment Fibaro on in the last year, I suppose the most kudos has to go to the Fibaro UK guys for there tutorials and examples, but other than that, really don't know what is going on.

I brought a bunch of the dimmers for my led lights which apparently were meant to have work but do not. I've also had trouble with them on other dimmerable lights.

All but the 3 I'm testing with are still wrapped up. Can these unused units be exchanged for dimmer 2 module which hopefully will resolve my dimming issues. I also hope the new ones do not get as hot as I've been concerned about this. Thank you

@markdyer this depends on your retailer.
