Hey fibaro,

I think a lot of us were thinking if an app for apple watch (or android wear as well) is in your future plans...

That would be definitely useful! (and competitors are thinking already)...

Start simple and baseline...

Example: Notifications & Alarms

Wearables are sure future of home automation, there are already solutions to control your Fibaro with e.g. Tasker app. Native support for such devices however is not the priority right now, but we are following trends carefully in that matter.

nice reply....but....you know that tasker app is for Android devices only?

Personally, what I expect from Fibaro is a fully integrated and controllable PREMIUM system, and that's why i choosed fibaro even if it is the most expensive.

But for now, It's being the less integrated and less customer-hearing system, but stil the most expensive...

C'mon...i dont think writing a little app for apple watch would take that much...but that would be a great plus for you next video

I get your concerns, but please note that even such a little app will need constant maintenance, testing with further versions etc. We will get there, but I do not think it is the best time to introduce more new features when it comes to software, since we are trying to improve the performance of existing pieces first.

Glad to see the change in tone and getting priorities right.

May be it is time for Fibaro to re-balance expenses on its development resources instead of so much on marketing? Mount Everest marketing campaign is EXPENSIVE!!!

Finally ! Fibaro priorities are in the right place.

    Sincerely, a most excellent response..

Re/ wearables, my understanding is that notifications, push messages etc are already available from any app to iwatch, & to be honest, the screen is going to be too fiddly to do much else I would have thought ? then again, I remember people around me saying faxes would never take off

I could easily think of a watch app which would allow for all sorts of interactions to the HC2 to allow for intuitive interfacing with the watch.

I asked this question some time ago and now I need to agree, it is probably not the best time.

But honestly, I am using tasker with just few basic function on my moto360 (light on, music on, everything off, movie...) and that is the use I see for it. I guess it would be really tricky to get it all work (full app) and the screen on watch is still small (and I hope it stays that way

And that is the exact point that we need to go. Not full house control via watch, but basic control, 4-8 devices or scenes. And again - tasker does the trick really good for now, but hey, why shouldnt be fibaro the first solution on the market with native watch app... That would be something for marketing campaign

Anyway, for someone with a bit of coding knowledge, it should only take a few days to put together a really nice app. With the API and a little graphics, all you really need is a bit of code to configure the buttons and some way to change between them.

that's what i was thinking....just a little app with some square buttons redirecting to fibaro hc thru http calls....not much difficult i think!

We need existing functions working correctly before any new product development, more investment and a lot more work on the software

    1. GPS Function

    2. Device Templates

    3. Dead Devices

Not quite as simple as you'd think tbh guys. For one you can't just make a Watch App....you have to make an App first and then an Apple Watch App too. You can't use Fibaro's iOS app either (as they come 'as one') so basically have to make all from scratch.

Can be done though. So, if I build one, who'll buy? lol

I would be happy with a list of 4-5 buttons that trigger scenes/devices... so I can set alarm, open the blinds and stuff on my watch.

Couldn't that be done via simple API calls? Not necessary to work from outside, when your in your home as a first step would suffice...

I know, the whol configuration interface and login forms etc. would have to be build as you cannot hard code them... but now with watchOS2? Should be a piece of cake

And btw, Notifications are already working, which is great...!

    Doesnt work like that unfortunately.

It would be EASY for Fibaro to add a Watch App and extension to their existing iOS app but ten x harder for anyone else as you have to develop all three as a 'bundle'.

Im going to give it a go but will take some time. Youre right API is only way to do it and itd be linking to scenes or something like that with a watch extension and watch app.

    We'll see how it goes.

Ps Also its just an extension so not much for Fibaro to maintain if they did it anyway!!
