Force update HCL to V4.x?

Fibaro,

 

At this moment it is not possible to update the HCL to the latest V4.x firmware. I understand that this is due the risk of problems that users might have after the update. But there are some users that might need to update to be able to use this with their HC2 V4.x as extension gateway.

 

As it does not matter for me if there are problems with the HCL and that I have to reset or re-add all the devices, it would be nice if there was a possibility to force update the HCL to V4.X. I can imagine that this can be done in a similar way as it was done before for the HC2s beta versions. With an update link with a  key that lets you update only that specific device and serial number.

 

Could you tell me if there is any way you can enable use to update (some) HCL devices by request?

If device was bought with 4.x it will have 4.x after recovery.

They dont give an answer, the copy paste the same answer as reply everytime.

No releae date, not possible to get the update earlier.

My phcl came with 4.041 i had to do recovery and it was back to 3.594 again, and guess what its not possible get v4 back as answer.

Well, I am not asking about a release date as I understand that they have problems with existing installations. I am asking to give it as a beta kind of update for power users and (power) users that use it incombination with a HC2

Also asked them for a beta and they have no beta program for the HCL.

Only answer we get is: We are very busy with the HCL version it will be released soon

I am sorry, but there will be no manual updates for particular controllers, we will release it once we decide it is valid and safe for all installations to upgrade.

that is said to hear. So that means we should stop selling the units? as a recovery will set it back to 3.x Which means the bought functionality will be removed.

 

We have to send the units back I guess? (also the ones that only contains3.x as customers do not want these).
