Hi

i am looking for some code that will control the maximum volume output on my SONOS system whilst i am away so that children don`t blow the system up or annoy the neighbours - Can anyone help?

From a scene within Fibaro HC2 - when I'm say > 500m away make sure the volume on my Sonos system doesn't exceed 50%

Trouble is you couldn't make it so that the volume just couldn't be overridden by the local buttons on the speakers.

Surly as i can control the sonos through my HC2 it should be able tosee the values of the volume increase and act accordingly? - So if it was to be manually overridden the volume would just be turned back to the pre defined setting -when detected? - Maybe i should switch it off when the teenagers are left alone!!

Are you talking about fibaro side or local buttons?

Even if you restrict the fibaro side to cap at 50%, if your kids were to switch using the local button, it is defeating the purpose of having this scene.

Perhaps you can give more information as in what interface your kids can use(ex. fibaro or sonos), what are you using to control your sonos from your hc2(VD or scene)

Likewise as you said, you can create scene to check if you are 500m away from home, switch off sonos power, notify you when it is switched on (perhaps by your kids)

I was going to use a VD and run a scene - i didn`t really mind if the kids used the sonos app or the physical speaker to adjust the volume i was going to run the VD on a 5-10 second status check and adjust the settings accordingly - I have temporary run a scene to switch off the bridge when i`m >500m away (that`s if the GPS side of things would be a little more reliable)

I guess that would work, polling the volume every 5 sec. The only disadvantage is that they might have already broken to loudspeakers when the HC2 kicks in and lower it.
