How to connect Jung light panels to Fibaro

Question

Hi,

We are about to invest in domotica and will choose Fibaro.

In our newly built house, we have 8 light zones pre-wired. Instead of having 8 individual dimmers on the wall, we very much like the pulse panels offered by Jung:

Since iPads tend to get replaced every 4-5 years (and Apple rarely sticks to the same dimensions), we would prefer to have a 8-switch panel on the wall instead.

This seems to be part of Jung's KNX line. Do we need to buy/install a full KNX system from Jung in order to use this, or is there a smarter (read: more affordable) way to use these pulse panels with Fibaro light dimmers?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Richard

The link you provided says the buttons are to be connected to a KNX bus coupler. So it's really designed for KNX. I've never heard of a KNX to Z-Wave gateway here, and I'm here since 2013. There is an interface specifically for the Zipabox controller (they mention it on their website, I've never seen it). The Fibaro dimmers accept two N.O. push buttons, or a blind switch (up/down). So I think it's either an Android tablet or iPad, or some multi-button setup. I've never researched it myself but I remember vaguely people here talked about 4 button touch switches. Maybe someone else can help?

If it is KNX device there is possibility to use KNX to LAN gateway, nothing directly for Z-wave.

The main problem I have with sticking an iPad/Tablet on the wall is that those things are not built to last, while a regular pulse panel (supposedly) is, much like any light switch. It works, but only as long as Apple does not decide to change the dimensions of the iPad (again) and their lighting connector (again). Also, typing in the password every time you want to turn the lights up/down is a bit cumbersome (e.g. when you have friends/family over). You do want access to the control center password protected, because you don't want anyone to mess with your settings/scenes...

I'm not going to invest in KNX just to support these two 8-panels I intend to install (one on each side of the living room).

Is there a wireless alternative to couple pulse panels with Fibaro z-wave dimmer modules, even if it means ability to control less zones (e.g. 4) instead of Jung's 8?

If you know of any solution, please let me know.
