HCL and Z-wave.me wall transmitter

Question

Posted

Hi,

I know that with the HCL, you can't use a wall transmitter to activate scenes, as it requires LUA. However it is possible to "associate" devices, and turn them on/off.

Now, when I "associate" my wall plugs with the wall remote. Will they still be linked to my HCL, and be used in scenes?

Greetz,

Maarten

Yes, you can still control devices associated to another devices with scenes. Also associations only work when device is activated with physical button.

So atm I have an HCL with several smart plugs. I can safely associate them with the wall remote, without breaking any links I currently have with the HCL?

Do you mean simple association or including them to come kind of remote controller? As long as they are all in the same Z-wave network you should be fine.

I think simple association. I am just looking for a way to turn on/off some lights in the living room that are plugged into Fibaro Smart plugs. Currently, they are only controlled through scenes.

So I can connect the z-wave.me transmitter to my HCL, and then associate the smart plugs and the transmitter in the same group?
