Sony TV - VD

Question

Posted

Im hoping someone can help me, although ive been researching and following fibaro for quite some time ive only just bought all my equipment.

I have a Sony TV (2014 4k) and i do have the plugin to control the tv which works very very well.  However, i want to create my own virtual device to be able to select a channel with one click. Say a button with the channel logo as the icon and it sends the command to the TV. Also i want to be able to have a button to be able to select a specific HDMI input.

I know it will require the Sony HTTP commands, but can anyone put me on the right track?  Cheers

I haven't tried using string commands but my Lua example works just fine as stated earlier in this thread. Any specific reason you're avoiding Lua?

Hi StarkJohan, thank you for the example. I forgot to mention that i have a HCL, so i can only use string in VDs.

Ok, I got you. I have no idea if you're able to post custom headers using "string" commands but if that is possible it might just work out for you. I'm sorry to say I can't help you any more than this.

I appreciate you trying to help me, but i'm starting to become frustrated with the HCL String limitation, with almost no documentation,or examples from Fibaro, with no syntax explained, with almost no support on the forum. I've browsed the forum looking for any details about string http request syntax, with absolutely no luck and i've noticed that most of the request don't get an answer. The most frustrating thing about this is that i can't get any feedback on HCL from the device.
